Musk wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The obvious audience for Trump&rsquo;s announcement is the energy sector &mdash; a business that both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/stephen-moore-the-left-wants-to-abolish-everything-even-this-column\/\" title=\"Stephen Moore: The Left Wants To Abolish Everything, Even This Column\">requires huge amounts<\/a> of capital investment and faces some of the greatest risk of death by government regulation.<\/p>\n<p>(The tortured history of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/former-keystone-xl-pipeline-worker-tried-warn-biden-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keystone XL pipeline<\/a> is one of the most glaring examples. Approved by Trump in 2017, it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/video-fired-keystone-xl-contractor-slams-biden-spiking-gas-prices-everything-done-failure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">destroyed by Biden<\/a> in 2021. Now, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/11\/20\/trump-keystone-oil-pipeline-00190603\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a>, Trump is trying to revive it.)<\/p>\n<p>The American political left has devoted itself to destroying the country&rsquo;s energy production in pursuit of its obsession with &ldquo;green&rdquo; energy.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/total-american-energy-independence-huge-america-left-isnt-interested\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">energy independence<\/a> the country achieved during the first Trump administration was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/haley-good-week-putin-biden-moves-us-away-energy-independence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">frittered away fast<\/a> by President Joe Biden and his band of eco-fanatics.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s election already changed that dynamic. His announcement on Tuesday made it official.<\/p>\n<p>And the wailing among progressives has already started.<\/p>\n<p>The New Republic, for instance, is a leftist publication that has festered like a sore on the body politic since the administration of Woodrow Wilson (an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/princeton-university-purging-racist-president-woodrow-wilsons-name-college\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">openly racist<\/a> autocrat The New Republic <a href=\"https:\/\/newrepublic.com\/article\/113365\/woodrow-wilson-liberal-president-most-similar-obama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">still reveres<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s already furious at Trump&rsquo;s ambitions to spur the economy, even as it admits it has no idea how it will actually work.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/newrepublic.com\/post\/189222\/donald-trump-proposal-environment-billionaires\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a> about Trump&rsquo;s post was headlined &ldquo;Trump&rsquo;s Latest Ridiculous Proposal Is a Huge Gift to Billionaires.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>That&rsquo;s pretty scathing, and journalistic standards &mdash; not to mention common decency &mdash; would require some kind of argument backing it up.<\/p>\n<p>But instead, the article is filled with unknowns, such as &ldquo;what kinds of companies or individuals would be eligible for this offer, or what kinds of projects they would produce,&rdquo; how it would affect existing programs, or even whether &ldquo;Trump has the authority to make the offer in the first place.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Still leftists hate it, with the same kind of reflex that makes Trump supporters &mdash; and probably even non-Trump supporters who are sane &mdash; love it.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s because they know what it means &mdash; and what it signifies for at least the next four years.<\/p>\n<p>Outside the fever swamps of progressive leftists, Americans understand that they&rsquo;re living in a country that is being crippled by its own overreaching government &mdash; which is demanding a greater role in the lives of everyday people (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-bidens-ed-secretary-takes-heat-after-again-trashing-parents-for-acting-like-they-know-whats-right-for-kids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">very much including parents<\/a> raising their children).<\/p>\n<p>What Trump represents is a commitment to undoing the overregulation of the administrative state.<\/p>\n<p>His announcement Tuesday was a public commitment that the federal government&rsquo;s goal is not to cripple the kind of business development that produces jobs, contributes to the general welfare, and makes the U.S. economy the most powerful in the world.<\/p>\n<p>And by the time all is said and done, Trump might have gotten rid of more regulations than any president in U.S. history.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2017\/01\/trump-signs-executive-order-requiring-that-for-every-one-new-regulation-two-must-be-revoked-234365\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a> reported at the time, Trump signed an executive order to reduce government regulation by requiring that two regulations be eliminated before a new one could be added.<\/p>\n<p>That war against the administrative state and its stifling of American businesses subsided during the Biden administration, of course.
