This inquiry arises amid concerns about possibly fraudulent donations processed through \u2062ActBlue. In October, Steil issued a subpoena to ActBlue for documents related to their donor verification policies, and on Monday, the two committee chairmen sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/cha.house.gov\/_cache\/files\/e\/2\/e22167fd-2f8c-4745-b2f3-2a79f8a31c2e\/DB07502DE112F5F0037574B253AC1015.2024-12-09-jdj-bs-to-sift.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"letter\">letter<\/a> to the company, which provides ActBlue&rsquo;s &ldquo;fraud detection and prevention services,&rdquo; for information and documents about its work with ActBlue.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan and Steil sent a letter to Sift CEO Kris Nagel with &ldquo;urgent concerns regarding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/actblue-draws-accusations-of-potentially-illegal-schemes\/\" title=\"ActBlue Draws Accusations Of &#039;Potentially Illegal&#039; Schemes\">potential illicit election funding<\/a> by foreign actors.&rdquo; They alleged, based on reports, that ActBlue &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">maintained poor anti-fraud practices<\/a> that have allowed bad actors to make fraudulent political donations, including from<br \/>foreign sources.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Fraudulent political donations corrupt American elections and could amount to interstate criminal conduct. Because Sift has provided &lsquo;fraud detection and prevention services&rsquo; for ActBlue, we write to request your cooperation with our oversight,&rdquo; said the letter.<\/p>\n<p>The committee chairmen request all documents and communications from Jan. 1, 2020, to present relating to &ldquo;Sift&rsquo;s efforts to deter fraudulent transactions on ActBlue,&rdquo; &ldquo;potentially fraudulent transactions on ActBlue,&rdquo; along with the use of CVVs, debit cards, gift card, and prepaid cards on ActBlue.<\/p>\n<p>The letter also requests documents and communications between law enforcement over &ldquo;potentially fraudulent transactions&rdquo; on the platform, as well as communications and documents about the &ldquo;potential use of ActBlue by foreign nationals, sanctioned individuals or entities, or sanctioned adjacent persons or entities to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/top-lessons-investors-should-take-away-from-the-collapse-of-ftx\/\" title=\"Top Lessons Investors Should Take Away From The Collapse Of FTX\">make illegal political contributions<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The pair said the alleged vulnerabilities in ActBlue&rsquo;s fraud detection services may have been exploited by adversarial countries, including China, Russia, Iran, and Venezuela.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It appears that ActBlue&rsquo;s &lsquo;fraud detection and prevention services&rsquo; likely failed to stop fraudulent transactions from occurring on the platform.
