For prime time, the network is up by 16% with nearly 2.8 million viewers, and up 18% with viewers in the 25 through 54 age bracket, according to Nielsen Media Research.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, rival network <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/cnn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">CNN<\/a> lost almost half of its prime-time viewers with 410,000 following the election and only received 81,000 from the age bracket. Likewise, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/msnbc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">MSNBC&rsquo;s<\/a> viewership also decreased, going down 53% with 621,000 viewers and 61% of viewers ages 25 through 54, totaling 57,000.<\/p>\n<p>Among MSNBC&rsquo;s shows decreasing in viewership is <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/morning-joe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Morning Joe<\/a><\/em>, which has seen its viewership decline by 18% following news the two co-hosts, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, met with President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago. The network has also seen a decrease of 49% following the co-hosts&rsquo; revelation they spoke with Trump.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Scarborough has addressed the pushback he and his wife received for meeting with the president-elect several times, most recently on Thursday when he said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3251339\/msnbc-morning-joe-continues-to-defend-mar-a-lago-visit-as-backlash-continues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">they met with Trump for an &ldquo;off-the-record comment.&rdquo;<\/a> He also said he and his wife told their viewers they met with Trump because they were trying to be &ldquo;transparent.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Despite MSNBC&rsquo;s loss in viewership following the election, the network did have a record-breaking election night with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcuniversal.com\/article\/msnbc-tops-cnn-presidential-election-night-first-time-network-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">over 6 million viewers<\/a>.
