It will go down as an acquittal for Penny on that charge, so he is no longer facing a potential 15-year prison term. For the jury, however, it makes the hard work of the last four days pointless &hellip;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This is a disgrace.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2024\/12\/06\/daniel-penny-jordan-neely-subway-trial-verdict\/76476419007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a> reported Friday that while the maximum sentence for manslaughter is 15 years, the maximum sentence Penny now faces is four years.<\/p>\n<p>Friday&rsquo;s development came after the jury announced it could not reach a unanimous verdict on the manslaughter charge, according to the Post.<\/p>\n<p>The jury had been deliberating more than 20 hours since <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/daniel-penny-nyc-subway-chokehold-death-trial-74f68463c4a8c29654dab7e9909d8046\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">getting the case<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We move to dismiss the top count of manslaughter in the second degree,&rdquo; Assistant District Attorney Dafna Yoran said Friday afternoon, according to the Post.<\/p>\n<p>For many critics, the case has highlighted Bragg&rsquo;s selective enforcement of the law.<\/p>\n<p>While the borough is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tren-de-aragua-gangster-accused-robbing-one-alvin-braggs-assistant-das\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">overrun with criminal behavior<\/a>, abetted by New York state&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/taylor-swift-plagued-lax-bail-laws-alleged-stalker-repeatedly-arrested-set-free\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lax bail laws<\/a>, the Democrat has devoted massive resources to prosecuting former President and President-elect Donald Trump on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hypocrite-alvin-bragg-slammed-2-lawsuits-trump-indictment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">felony charges<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, the decision to prosecute Neely has been denounced as a legal system attacking a man for simply standing up for fellow commuters threatened by a clearly deranged individual.<\/p>\n<p>To Bragg critics, Penny is a &ldquo;hero.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I have faith the hero(es) on the jury will pull through for the hero on trial,&rdquo; one <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RyanHugeBrain\/status\/1865137151303664014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tim-allen-shares-a-tweet-who-is-the-face-of-woke\/\" title=\"Tim Allen Shares a Tweet: \u201cWho Is the Face of Woke?\u201d\">social media user wrote<\/a><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Sad a hero has to fight like this for justice,&rdquo;
