At least,&rdquo; Greene said in an interview.<\/p>\n<p>The rising Republican has for years worked to help the hundreds of Capitol riot protesters locked up in jails and convicted of various charges for rushing the building during the 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Electoral-College\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Electoral College<\/a> certification of President Joe Biden&rsquo;s election in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of Babbitt, Greene has joined others in focusing on how the administration and congressional Democrats have favored the U.S. Capitol Police officer who shot the unarmed Air Force veteran, Capt. Michael Byrd.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/education\/3232494\/trump-wants-to-abolish-the-department-of-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>HOW TRUMP&rsquo;S PROMISE TO ABOLISH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION WOULD WORK<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Testimony and video from the day showed Babbitt being pushed through a door window into the House Speaker&rsquo;s Lobby behind the House floor when, without warning, she was shot by Byrd.<br \/>The shooting was investigated, but no charges were leveled, and Byrd was promoted.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\/3163229\/ashli-babbitt-wrongful-death-suit-green-light\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Judicial Watch<\/a> is helping Babbitt&rsquo;s family with a wrongful death suit against the government.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&ldquo;There&rsquo;s a gun, there&rsquo;s a gun,&rdquo; a J6 protester shouted.<\/p>\n<p>As Ashli Babbitt is pushed inside the chamber, Officer Byrd is shown pulling the trigger. Maybe they even did damage, broke a window and climbed in the Capitol. I think they&rsquo;ve served enough time. They didn&rsquo;t kill anybody, they didn&rsquo;t rape anybody, they didn&rsquo;t invade our country, like all these illegal aliens. I think they&rsquo;ve served enough time, and they&rsquo;re political hostages,&rdquo; said Greene.<\/p>\n<p>Greene continued, &ldquo;My view is every single one of them needs to be pardoned and released. And you know when I always say this, compare it to antifa and BLM rioters and protesters. Over 95% of charges dropped, let these people out of prison, give them their lives back. It&rsquo;s time. It&rsquo;s been too much.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Greene is hopeful that President-elect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Donald-Trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Donald Trump<\/a> will grant a pardon of the 1,500 Jan. 6 protesters facing charges on his first day or first week in office and she sees hope for that in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-names-kristi-noem-as-dhs-secretary-nominee-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Trump names Kristi Noem as DHS secretary nominee - Washington Examiner\">incoming president&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s choice of David Warrington as White House counsel.
