The\u200b legislation aims to penalize physicians with a minimum fine of $100,000 for non-compliance and allows for legal action against those who\u200d facilitate or perform such procedures\u200c on minors. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., introduced legislation on Wednesday that would <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">federally ban mutilating transgender procedures<\/a> for children and punish so-called &ldquo;physicians&rdquo; who perform such procedures.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation would block doctors from being able to prescribe or administer puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, as well as perform mutilating transgender surgeries like mastectomies.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1226ada4a20487678aa78b64ca33a580 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1226ada4a20487678aa78b64ca33a580\"><\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/KEN245791.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Safeguarding the Overall Protection of Minors (STOP) Act<\/a> would allow the Department of Health and Human Services to place a minimum $100,000 fine on doctors who do not follow the law. It would also create a private right of action for victims of the procedures &mdash; or their guardians if the victim is still a minor &mdash; to sue &ldquo;individuals responsible for performing, attempting to perform, conspiring to perform, or providing a referral for any gender transition procedure on the minor,&rdquo; according to a Wednesday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/senator-marshall-introduces-landmark-legislation-protecting-americas-children-from-predatory-transgender-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press release<\/a> announcing the bill&rsquo;s introduction. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Americans resoundingly rejected the Left&rsquo;s dangerous transgender agenda. Let&rsquo;s call it exactly what it is: child abuse,&rdquo;&nbsp;Marshall said in the press release.&nbsp;&ldquo;The days of demented doctors and activists getting rich off of mutilating, sterilizing, and castrating children are over.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our legislation keeps children&rsquo;s safety paramount by prohibiting anyone from performing, facilitating, or even conspiring to give these irreversible therapies and procedures to minors,&rdquo; he added. &ldquo;This bill is just the beginning of what&rsquo;s to come with President Trump at the helm and our unwavering commitment to protecting children from transgender activists&rsquo; twisted and criminal agenda.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Marshall, who was an OB-GYN for over two decades, has been <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/22\/republicans-announce-legislative-plans-to-punish-the-performance-of-child-mutilating-transgender-surgeries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">laying out congressional Republicans&rsquo; agenda on transgender issues<\/a> in recent weeks. He also previously introduced a bill to officially legally define &ldquo;male&rdquo; and &ldquo;female&rdquo; in alignment with biological reality instead of allowing Democrats to warp the categories like the Biden administration did with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2971440\/biden-administration-finalizes-controversial-title-ix-rule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Title IX in redefining sex<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d8c95226356464bf5b6445b98b95d778 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d8c95226356464bf5b6445b98b95d778\"><\/div>\n<p>According to the Wednesday press release, the STOP Act is a &ldquo;major pillar in Senator Marshall&rsquo;s fight against the transgender industrial complex that is preying on America&rsquo;s children.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The transgender medical industry is <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/22\/republicans-announce-legislative-plans-to-punish-the-performance-of-child-mutilating-transgender-surgeries\/\">reportedly<\/a> worth about $4.5 billion, and, as American Principles Project Terry Schilling suggested last month, aims to &ldquo;transition all 1.3 million Americans who identify as trans.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They want to grow that 1.3 number, too,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;That&rsquo;s what the whole trans ideology in schools is about &hellip; They&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gopers-announce-plans-to-punish-child-trans-surgeries\/\" title=\"GOPers Announce Plans To Punish Child Trans Surgeries\">ve literally weaponized<\/a> our tax dollars in our schools to brainwash our kids and get them into this very lucrative pipeline.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with Newsmax earlier this week, Marshall said getting the STOP Act across the finish line will be an &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsmax.com\/newsmax-tv\/roger-marshall-newsmax-stop-act\/2024\/12\/04\/id\/1190388\/\">uphill battle<\/a>.&rdquo; The bill would require 60 votes in the Senate to pass, he told the outlet. Republicans are projected to only hold <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/live\/senate-house-election-updates-11-5-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">53 seats<\/a> in the new Congress.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-52c0b68917b6a130604b76657f3c1674 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-52c0b68917b6a130604b76657f3c1674\"><\/div>\n<p>Marshall&rsquo;s legislation comes as Tennessee <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/12\/05\/biden-admin-regurgitates-left-wing-lies-about-trans-surgeries-in-supreme-court-oral-argument\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">defended<\/a> a similar state-level law in the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>During oral arguments in that case, Justice Samuel Alito dismantled the claim that so-called &ldquo;gender affirming treatment&rdquo; including puberty blockers and hormones &ldquo;improves the physical, psychological well being of transgender adolescents with gender dysphoria.&rdquo; Alito cited extensive research stating that the risks of such medical interventions are &ldquo;likely to outweigh&rdquo; any benefits.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-295ade88a06a97bdf8ee1ceb188b883f fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-295ade88a06a97bdf8ee1ceb188b883f\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Breccan F.
