despite still awaiting the decision on the first.<\/p>\n<p>The death of Jordan Neely in May <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">2023 caught national media attention largely due<\/a> to the involvement of Penny, a Marine veteran.<\/p>\n<p>Neely, a Michael Jackson impersonator with mental issues, began threatening riders aboard a New York City subway train.<\/p>\n<p>When those threats became a bit too hostile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/daniel-pennys-defense-rests-huge-courtroom-point-victim-cops-seen-running-neelys-info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Penny<\/a> intervened and put Neely in a headlock\/choke hold.<\/p>\n<p>Neely, 30, died after that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/secret-service-agent-on-bidens-israel-trip-detained-sent-home-after-alleged-physical-encounter-with-woman\/\" title=\"Secret Service Agent On Biden\u2019s Israel Trip Detained, Sent Home After Alleged \u2018Physical Encounter\u2019 With Woman\">physical encounter<\/a> with Penny.<\/p>\n<p> <script type=\"text\/javascript\"> \t\t\tif ( getCookie( \"ff_subbed\" ) ) { \t\t\t\tdocument.getElementById(\"stnvideo\").remove() \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Penny became an instantly polarizing figure, with his supporters lauding him as a hero who was willing to step in to protect his fellow Americans, while his critics blasted him as an out-of-control vigilante.<\/p>\n<p>So it should be little surprise that, as the New York Post has <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/03\/us-news\/jury-begins-deliberating-in-daniel-pennys-lightning-rod-nyc-subway-chokehold-case-heres-whats-at-stake\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chronicled<\/a>, jury deliberations had yet to yield a verdict by Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Per the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/05\/us-news\/jordan-neelys-father-sues-daniel-penny-as-nyc-jury-deliberates-verdict-for-subway-chokehold-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Post<\/a>, while the Manhattan trial broke for a second time with no verdict on Wednesday, Neely&rsquo;s father, Andre Zachary, filed a lawsuit against Penny.<\/p>\n<p>And Zachary wants his pound of flesh &hellip; and then some.<\/p>\n<p>According to the suit, filed in the New York Supreme Court, Zachary &ldquo;demands judgment awarding damages in a sum which exceeds the jurisdictional limits of all lower Courts, which would otherwise have jurisdiction.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Penny, who has maintained his innocence throughout this all, has long claimed that he was trying to be preventative.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/saturdays-fun-fraud-facts-seven-unexplainable-results-that-reveal-democrats-didnt-even-try-to-hide-their-fraud\/\" title=\"Saturday&#039;s Fun Fraud Facts: Seven Unexplainable Results that Reveal Democrats Didn&#039;t Even Try to Hide Their Fraud\">wasn&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t trying to injure him,&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/expert-medical-witness-testifies-subway-marine-daniel-penny-not-cause-death-jordan-neely\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Penny<\/a> told detectives, in interview footage shown to the jurors. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m just trying to keep him from hurting anybody else.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Neely&rsquo;s father clearly disagrees with that assessment, as his lawsuit accuses Penny of negligent contact, assault, and battery &mdash; all of which he claims played a role in Neely&rsquo;s death.<\/p>\n<p>Penny is currently facing charges of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If Penny is found guilty of manslaughter, the jury will have found that he &lsquo;recklessly&rsquo;
