It&rsquo;s an admission that&rsquo;s entirely true &mdash; but not for the reasons Biden thinks.<\/p>\n<p>Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/12\/02\/joe-biden-tries-to-justify-hunter-pardon-by-peddling-another-round-of-lies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">issued a blanket pardon<\/a> for his son Hunter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/12\/01\/statement-from-president-joe-biden-11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">for<\/a> &ldquo;offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.&rdquo; That means Hunter is off the hook for the federal gun and tax charges he was being prosecuted for, as well as other potential crimes he committed like FARA violations and money laundering.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-bab13dca87b9e26cfa5ff5c20e45e201 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-bab13dca87b9e26cfa5ff5c20e45e201\"><\/div>\n<p>In explaining the unprecedented, decade-long pardon, Biden said he had no choice since the DOJ was corrupted by politics.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice &mdash; and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further,&rdquo; Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/12\/01\/statement-from-president-joe-biden-11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>. &ldquo;I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Biden&rsquo;s right, his DOJ <em>is<\/em> corrupt. Under his DOJ, U.S. Attorney David Weiss delayed bringing charges against Hunter despite ample evidence that Hunter failed to pay more than <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.cacd.907806\/gov.uscourts.cacd.907806.1.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$1.4 million<\/a> in taxes and lied about drug use on his federal form to purchase a firearm. Biden&rsquo;s DOJ hand-crafted a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/21\/hunter-biden-plea-deal-on-five-year-old-crimes-shows-biden-protection-racket-at-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sweetheart plea<\/a> deal for Hunter that eventually derailed after a judge scrutinized the broad immunity it afforded Hunter. The DOJ, as <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/12\/02\/hunter-is-treated-differently-by-deep-state-but-not-how-joe-bidens-pardon-suggests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explained<\/a> by my colleague Jordan Boyd, &ldquo;specifically <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/irs-whistleblower-docs-show-doj-obstructed-investigation-into-his-son-to-protect-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">choked<\/a> an IRS investigation and subsequent charging recommendations for Hunter because they feared it would hurt Joe&rsquo;s chances in the 2020 election.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>All of that is corruption &mdash; corruption that only stood to benefit Hunter. But as far as victims of the Biden DOJ&rsquo;s corruption goes, Hunter isn&rsquo;t one of them. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-df74732fd50f14f5f45fd0c9fafa2f78 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-df74732fd50f14f5f45fd0c9fafa2f78\"><\/div>\n<p>The DOJ&rsquo;s Jack Smith <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/07\/democrats-must-end-their-lawfare-prosecutions-of-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">indicted<\/a> President-elect Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/25\/corporate-media-vilify-judge-aileen-cannon-for-doing-her-constitutional-duty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">twice<\/a>. One indictment centered around Trump&rsquo;s questioning of the administration of the 2020 election. (The other was related to Trump&rsquo;s alleged mishandling of classified documents.)<strong> <\/strong>After Smith dragged Trump through the mud and made a mockery of the so-called &ldquo;justice&rdquo; system, the Supreme Court torpedoed Smith&rsquo;s lawfare efforts in July when it ruled that a U.S. president has &ldquo;absolute immunity&rdquo; for &ldquo;actions within his conclusive and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">preclusive constitutional authority&#038;rdquo<\/a>; and &ldquo;at least presumptive immunity&rdquo; for all &ldquo;official acts.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Smith later filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/08\/27\/read-trump-indictment-00176509\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">superseding indictment<\/a> against Trump, refusing to let the case go because <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/10\/02\/with-lawfare-case-in-shambles-jack-smith-airs-his-trump-hatred-in-unusual-165-page-filing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">he thought it would hurt<\/a> Trump&rsquo;s chances of winning the election. Smith has since <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/25\/jack-smiths-end-of-lawfare-charges-against-trump-proves-it-was-a-political-witch-hunt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dropped<\/a> the case after Trump&rsquo;s victory.<\/p>\n<p>Biden&rsquo;s politicized DOJ has also prosecuted nearly 1,500 Americans for protesting the 2020 election, with <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/27\/garland-makes-an-example-of-j6-protesters-to-shut-up-anyone-else-who-might-question-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Attorney General Merrick Garland<\/a> telling Americans in August to take the prosecutions as a warning  about what would happen to them should they raise questions about an election. <\/p>\n<p>The DOJ also targeted a group of praying pro-lifers who decided to pray outside of an abortion clinic in the hope that their silent pleas would help save the life of an innocent child. Seven pro-lifers were found guilty of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and engaging in a civil rights conspiracy for, as explained by <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/21\/michigan-jury-finds-7-guilty-of-face-act-violation\/\">The Federalist&rsquo;s Beth Brelje<\/a>, &ldquo;standing and sitting in front of the door of the Northland Family Planning Clinic&rdquo; in Michigan in 2020.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-3669c25c64d5c51024ffb74fbd87a475 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-3669c25c64d5c51024ffb74fbd87a475\"><\/div>\n<p>The DOJ is corrupt and politicized, as Biden correctly pointed out.
