Cory Mills (R-FL) contended President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Joe Biden<\/a>&lsquo;s pardon Sunday night marks the latest weaponization of the nation&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/section\/news\/justice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">justice<\/a> system by the administration, to the point that it has &ldquo;gotten rid of the nation&rsquo;s rule of law.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3246641\/joe-biden-pardons-son-hunter-of-all-criminal-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">The president issued a &ldquo;full and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wake-up-with-the-washington-examiner-biden-breaks-his-word-and-senators-get-fired-up-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Wake up with the Washington Examiner: Biden breaks his word, and senators get fired up - Washington Examiner\">unconditional pardon&#038;rdquo<\/a>;<\/a> Sunday to his son, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/hunter-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Hunter Biden<\/a>, marking a reversal from his repeated claims that he would not pardon his son. In reacting to Biden&rsquo;s pardon, Mills suggested the president believed his power as president could have affected his son&rsquo;s conviction back in June, pointing to how Biden influenced the convictions of President-elect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Donald Trump<\/a> in his legal battles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This has been a continuation of a weaponization, and we talk about putting the finger on the scale of justice, but what&rsquo;s really happened is that under this administration, they have tossed out the scales of justice and gotten rid of our Constitutional Republic&rsquo;s rule of law for this idea of a weaponization of federal government in an effort to try to politicize or go after your opponents,&rdquo; Mills said on Fox News&rsquo;s <em>Fox &amp; Friends First<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 640px; max-height: 360px; min-width: 320px; min-height: 180px; overflow: hidden;\">\n<div style=\"position: relative; width: 100%; padding-top: 56.25%;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/share.grabien.com\/share.php?id=2712354&amp;userid=11311&amp;loginid=9421&amp;playercolor=%23000000&amp;playersize=auto&amp;code=2b51a9c90f8617a5f67112a8857aba37\" style=\"position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 0px;\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Mills then argued that due to Hunter Biden&rsquo;s conviction not going as the president originally planned, Joe Biden opted to move forward with his &ldquo;two<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">-tiered justice system&#038;rdquo<\/a>; with his pardon. The Florida representative argued that the president&rsquo;s son received a sweeping pardon despite lying on an application for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-sound-alarm-claim-atf-moving-toward-gun-registry\/\" title=\"Republicans Sound Alarm: Claim ATF Moving Toward Gun Registry\">federal firearm license<\/a>, which could give a person up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;And so he&rsquo;s continued to try and go ahead and bail his son out instead of doing what&rsquo;s right, which is allowing the scale of justice to rule,&rdquo; Mills said.<\/p>\n<p>The representative concluded his thoughts by deeming the Biden family &ldquo;one of the most corrupt families&rdquo; to ever live in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/section\/news\/white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">White House<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mills also addressed Trump&rsquo;s nomination of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3246212\/trump-selects-kash-patel-as-fbi-director\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Kash Patel for FB director<\/a>, calling him &ldquo;a fantastic nomination&rdquo; who would reform the agency. Patel is a close friend of the lawmaker, who spoke to Patel &ldquo;immediately after&rdquo; the nomination and expressed enthusiasm for both his and Pam Bondi&rsquo;s nomination for U.S. attorney general.<\/p>\n<p>Other Republicans have also expressed excitement over Patel&rsquo;s nomination, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/house-oversight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">House Oversight<\/a> Committee Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/james-comer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">James Comer<\/a> (R-KY) celebrating how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3246563\/james-comer-deep-state-days-end-trump-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Trump&rsquo;s Cabinet will end &ldquo;the deep state&rdquo; within the government<\/a>.
