Carlson began surveying the top 3,000 largest companies earlier this year, according to her nonprofit group, Lift Our Voices.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our team of academic researchers will survey Russell 3000 companies and model publicly available financial data to design a corporate grading system and determine whether the presence or absence of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">silencing mechanisms drives performance outcomes<\/a>,&rdquo; the organization explained on its <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/63208ec7205ced5a33821c9b\/t\/65f328ff00ff2f7d7971d437\/1710434561061\/Feb2024_LOV+Executive+Summary+Strategic+Plan+22-26.docx.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"website\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These mechanisms include nondisclosure agreements and forced arbitration via closed-door courts outside the public system. Often these are the strategies enacted by companies when incidents of sexual harassment arise. Carlson herself worked for Fox News under a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cvs-caremark-faces-lawsuit-over-fees-collected-from-pharmacies\/\" title=\"CVS Caremark sued for pharmacy fee collection.\">forced arbitration clause<\/a> that prevented her from suing then-CEO Roger Ailes for sexual harassment. Ailes died in 2017 without facing any legal consequences for the various allegations against him.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Why wouldn&rsquo;t they want to tell people that they don&rsquo;t silence their workers?&rdquo; Carlson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/12\/02\/how-gretchen-carlson-is-carrying-on-the-metoo-fight\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said\">said<\/a> of her proposed index.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This comes years after Carlson pursued two respective legislations to ban NDAs and forced arbitration for all U.S. companies. Carlson became the face of the #MeToo movement when she came out publicly with her allegations against Ailes. <\/p>\n<p>In 2019, Carlson founded Lift Our Voices with fellow former Fox News contributor Julie Roginsky. Two years earlier, Roginsky successfully filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Fox News.
