The committee is led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), a staunch Trump ally.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/11\/30\/us\/politics\/democrats-nadler-raskin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">According to<\/a> the <em>New York Times<\/em>, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has been among those privately encouraging Rasking to challenge Nadler. Raskin and Nadler are close friends, which could complicate any leadership challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Raskin, who currently serves on the committee, has risen in his party over his work as lead impeachment manager against now President-elect Donald Trump in 2021 and as the top Democrat on the House committee that investigated the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
