A six-figure grant was awarded to the University of\u200d Cincinnati to create this\u200c app, which aims to provide &#8220;gender-affirming \u200dvoice and communication training&#8221; using visual and acoustic feedback on\u2063 voice pitch \u2064and resonance. \u200d <\/p>\n<p>As part of the research, 40 transgender women will be divided into two\u200d groups to compare the app\u200d with an existing voice therapy application. To remedy voice dysphoria, the university&rsquo;s researchers were tasked with developing a &ldquo;gender-affirming voice and communication training software that <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">combines visual-acoustic biofeedback<\/a> about pitch and resonance (two main indicators of voice femininity\/masculinity) with exercises for these targets,&rdquo; according to the grant description.<\/p>\n<p>In order to test the effectiveness of their intervention, the HHS-funded researchers will randomly assign 20 transgender women to use the new app and 20 transgender women to use an existing voice therapy app. The researchers will then record the difference in self-reported motivation, practice, and improvement between the two groups. The software will be released for free and possibly updated with additional features after the research is complete.<\/p>\n<p>HHS approved $213,878 in funding for the university&rsquo;s gender-affirming voice and communication training software and has paid out $140,944 so far. Biden has pushed the entirety of the administrative state to prioritize LGBT matters, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/01\/20\/executive-order-preventing-and-combating-discrimination-on-basis-of-gender-identity-or-sexual-orientation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">signing<\/a> an executive order in January 2021 ordering all federal agencies to combat discrimination against transgender people alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2022\/06\/15\/executive-order-on-advancing-equality-for-lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender-queer-and-intersex-individuals\/\">another order<\/a> in June 2022 that directed HHS to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/libby-emmons-biden-issues-transhumanist-executive-order-to-remake-human-beings-to-achieve-societal-goals\/\" title=\"Libby Emmons: Biden Issues Transhumanist Executive Order to Remake Human Beings to &quot;Achieve Societal Goals&quot;\">spend federal funds<\/a> on projects related to &ldquo;LGBTQI+&rdquo; mental health.
