Charles Kushner was previously convicted \u2062of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dem-donor-pleads-guilty-to-illegal-campaign-spending\/\" title=\"Dem Donor Pleads Guilty to Illegal Campaign Spending\">illegal campaign contributions<\/a>, tax evasion, and witness tampering and spent over a year in prison following his 2005 conviction. He was pardoned by\u200d Trump in\u2064 2020, with the administration citing his philanthropic efforts and commitment to reform as significant factors\u2062 in the \u2062decision, despite his \u200dcontroversial past, including an infamous scheme to entrap his brother-in-law. He spent 14 months in prison and 10 months in a halfway house for his crimes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3106551\/biden-administration-rulemaking-blitzes-aim-trump-proof-federal-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>BIDEN ADMINISTRATION RULEMAKING BLITZES AIM TO TRUMP-PROOF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In what former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called &ldquo;one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes&rdquo; he ever <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/donald-trump-charles-kushner-new-jersey-elections-crime-0155d15fa31108fd2c0e6360a3b597dd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">prosecuted<\/a> as U.S. attorney, Kushner hired a prostitute to entrap his brother-in-law with the intention of recording the encounter and sending it to the man&rsquo;s wife. This unsuccessful scheme was supposed to be revenge for cooperating with investigators.<\/p>\n<p>However, over the last two decades the New Jersey native and son of Holocaust survivors has devoted much of his life to philanthropy.
