Jahana Hayes (D-CT), Jim Himes (D-CT), John Larson (R-CT), and Joe Courtney (D-CT). The news comes days after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3244138\/trump-cabinet-nominees-swatted-bomb-threats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">several of President-elect Donald Trump&rsquo;s Cabinet nominees were targeted<\/a> with bomb threats or &ldquo;swatting&rdquo; (which is when hoax calls are used to draw in armed police to a person&rsquo;s location).<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;At 7:47 a.m., I was notified by Chief Edward Stephens of the Wolcott Police Department that they received a threatening email stating a pipe bomb had been placed in the mailbox at my home. State police, U.S. Capitol Police, and the Sergeant at Arms were immediately notified,&rdquo; Hayes said, announcing that police responded and found no explosive materials on the scene.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;At this time the investigation is ongoing,&rdquo; Hayes said. &ldquo;I thank law enforcement for their swift attention to this matter, their actions demonstrate there is no place in our country for political violence.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Other lawmakers made similar statements, wishing their constituents a happy Thanksgiving and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/president-trump-pledges-orderly-transition-of-power\/\" title=\"President Trump pledges orderly transition of power\">thanking law enforcement<\/a> for ensuring the safety of them and their families.<\/p>\n<p><em>This is a breaking story.
