President-elect Donald Trump made significant inroads in Riverside this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/we-caught-them-lin-wood-outed-mysterious-georgia-operative-gabe-sterling-now-video-shows-him-admitting-he-helped-set-up-drop-boxes-and-promoted-far-left-activists-as-absentee-ballot-counters\/\" title=\"WE CAUGHT THEM: Lin Wood Outed Mysterious Georgia Operative Gabe Sterling - Now Video Shows Him Admitting He Helped Set Up Drop Boxes and Promoted Far Left Activists as Absentee Ballot Counters\">election cycle<\/a>, outperforming his 2020 showing by more than 4 percentage points.&nbsp;Trump&rsquo;s gains in Riverside echo inroads he made in multiple other majority-Latino districts across California.<\/p>\n<p>Essayli earlier this week added that Republican <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-red-wave-of-conservative-women-elected-to-congress\/\" title=\"The Red Wave of Conservative Women Elected to Congress\">state assembly<\/a> candidate Leticia Castillo&rsquo;s win this election cycle represented &ldquo;the first time in 30 years, Republicans have defeated two democrats in the state assembly in a presidential election.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s no coincidence that both these seats are from Riverside County,&rdquo; Essayli said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/billessayli\/status\/1861594737184002137\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">post<\/a> to X before noting: &ldquo;This is a testament to the hard work of our candidates and our appeal to Latino voters.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">For the first time in 30 years, Republicans have defeated two democrats in the state assembly in a presidential election. This is a testament to the hard work of our candidates and our appeal to Latino voters. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/P7vgpKBmQx\">https:\/\/t.co\/P7vgpKBmQx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Bill Essayli (@billessayli) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/billessayli\/status\/1861594737184002137?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 27, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script data-cfasync=\"false\" src=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/cdn-cgi\/scripts\/5c5dd728\/cloudflare-static\/email-decode.min.js\"><\/script><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>However, Essayli pointed to a string of state lawsuits against neighboring Orange County, where Trump also made gains, to argue Newsom isn&rsquo;t hearing the voices of right-leaning residents in the Golden State.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In March of 2023, California sued Orange County&rsquo;s Huntington Beach after the city argued that laws requiring cities to fulfill state quotas on building more housing were unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>The state garnered a legal victory over the city of Huntington Beach last month, with Newsom celebrating that &ldquo;the federal court of appeals just shut down Huntington Beach&rsquo;s attempt to evade compliance.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>California Attorney General Rob Bonta, who is a Newsom appointee, also <a href=\"https:\/\/oag.ca.gov\/news\/press-releases\/attorney-general-bonta-issues-statement-latest-development-regarding-huntington\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">fought<\/a> Huntington Beach after the city&rsquo;s residents approved a measure requiring voters to provide proof of identification.<\/p>\n<p>After the courts handed her city a win, Huntington Beach Mayor Gracey Van Der Mark, a Trump supporter, touted the news, saying &ldquo;the rights of our residents from attacks by Governor Newsom and the State&rdquo; had been defended.<\/p>\n<p>However, Bonta lamented the legal defeat in a press release, saying, &ldquo;We disagree with the court&rsquo;s decision.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the lawsuits, Essayli concluded that state Democrats &ldquo;don&rsquo;t tolerate any dissent to any of their policies at all.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>His home district of Riverside, as well as Huntington Beach, aren&rsquo;t the only areas in California that have drifted toward the Right.
