The requirements are part of a 2022 law (HB 1878) that <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">mandates eligible voters present approved photo identification<\/a>. return false;\" title=\"Printer Friendly, PDF &amp; Email\"><span id=\"printfriendly-text2\" class=\"pf-button-text\"><i class=\"mdi mdi-printer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>In a win for the integrity of Missouri&rsquo;s elections, a state judge tossed a leftist-backed lawsuit seeking to strike down the Show Me State&rsquo;s voter ID requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Authored by Cole County Circuit Court Judge Jon Beetem, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courts.mo.gov\/fv\/c\/JUDGMENT.PDF?courtCode=19&amp;di=3366631\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Monday decision<\/a> came in response to a lawsuit brought by the Missouri NAACP and several state residents, who contended that the state&rsquo;s voter identification rules burdened their ability to vote in elections. The provisions were included in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.mo.gov\/22info\/BTS_Web\/Bill.aspx?SessionType=R&amp;BillID=78348681\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2022 law (HB 1878)<\/a> signed by GOP Gov. Mike Parsons, which requires eligible Missouri electors to provide an approved form of photo ID in order to vote.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-66bd9633076be7459d3226a1bf23908d fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-66bd9633076be7459d3226a1bf23908d\"><\/div>\n<p>Beetem ruled that plaintiffs lack standing to bring the case, specifically noting how the individual challengers &ldquo;have not provided sufficient evidence that they are harmed by HB 1878&rsquo;s voter ID provisions.&rdquo; Organizational plaintiffs, he added, &ldquo;have not satisfied the test for organizational standing or harm to their proprietary interests.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>The Missouri judge noted that even if the left-wing plaintiffs &ldquo;did have standing, HB 1878 was passed in response to a 2016 constitutional amendment authorizing voter ID, and the law is consistent with that constitutional provision.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The voter ID provisions of HB 1878 do not violate the fundamental right to vote or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-legal-team-files-appeal-after-obama-judge-dismisses-lawsuit-seeking-to-block-pennsylvania-from-certifying-its-results\/\" title=\"Trump Legal Team Files Appeal After Obama Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Seeking to Block Pennsylvania From Certifying Its Results\">equal protection clause<\/a> of the Missouri Constitution: on the contrary, stemming from a Constitutional amendment, they protect the fundamental right to vote by deterring difficult to detect forms of voter fraud,&rdquo; Beetem wrote. &ldquo;The photo ID requirement does not impose a &lsquo;severe&rsquo; burden under <em>Weinschenk<\/em>, and is narrowly tailored to advance what even <em>Weinschenk<\/em> admits is the State&rsquo;s compelling interest in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/obama-appointed-judge-smacks-down-marc-elias-absurd-election-lawfare\/\" title=\"Obama-Appointed Judge Rejects Marc Elias&#039; &#039;Absurd&#039; Election Legal Tactics\">deterring voter fraud<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The court previously dismissed the lawsuit in October 2023 after determining plaintiffs &ldquo;failed to allege either standing or a legally protectable interest,&rdquo; according to Beetem.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-52719777a8fdded2620470f5349045d4 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-52719777a8fdded2620470f5349045d4\"><\/div>\n<p>Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AGAndrewBailey\/status\/1861146760954990956\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">celebrated<\/a> the court&rsquo;s decision in a Monday X post, calling it a &ldquo;HUGE win for election security.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We went to court, we put on the evidence, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/floridas-democratic-senate-frontrunner-said-these-radical-activists-would-dismantle-police-in-very-thoughtful-way\/\" title=\"Florida\u2019s Democratic Senate Frontrunner Said These Radical Activists Would Dismantle Police in \u2018Very Thoughtful\u2019 Way\">radical activists working<\/a> to undermine our elections FAILED,&rdquo; Bailey wrote. <\/p>\n<p><strong>[READ:[READ:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/04\/exclusive-texas-georgia-election-data-shatters-democrats-voter-id-lies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Exclusive: Texas, Georgia Election Data Shatters Democrats&rsquo; Voter ID Lies<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Monday&rsquo;s ruling is the latest in a string of legal defeats for radical left-wing activists seeking to undermine voter ID requirements and the integrity of elections. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-831c8d25c785803c29352150840f4a68 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-831c8d25c785803c29352150840f4a68\"><\/div>\n<p>Earlier this month, a California judge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/us\/judge-dismisses-state-s-lawsuit-challenging-huntington-beach-s-voter-id-law\/ar-AA1uaghh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dismissed<\/a> a lawsuit filed by the Democrat-run state against Huntington Beach&rsquo;s voter ID law.
