This decision \u2063positions Walmart as \u200cthe largest U.S. \u2064company to eliminate such practices,\u200d impacting\u200d its workforce of 1.6 million. The retailer will no longer use an LGBT rights index for hiring, will <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">stop prioritizing diverse \u200bsuppliers<\/a>, and plans to omit the term &#8220;DEI&#8221; from its\u2062 language. It will not renew a five-year commitment to an equity racial center that was established at the height of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020 after George Floyd&rsquo;s death.
