McBride described this move as a &#8220;distraction,&#8221; \u2064suggesting that it diverts attention from more pressing issues affecting \u200dAmerican workers, such as the cost of living, social security, and Medicaid. \u200bShe emphasized that focusing on such \u200cpolicies takes\u2063 away valuable time and energy\u200b from legislative efforts \u2062aimed at addressing constituents&#8217; real \u200cneeds. Nancy Mace (R-SC) addressing this topic. When asked about the action taken by Johnson, McBride suggested the recent move by House Republicans is the latest  &ldquo;attempt to misdirect&rdquo; attention.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3191374\/dates-2024-presidential-transition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>KEY DATES FOR THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL TRANSITION<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is an attempt to distract from what they are actually doing,&rdquo; McBride said on CBS News&rsquo;s <em>Face the Nation.<\/em> &ldquo;Every single time we hear them say the word &lsquo;trans,&rsquo; look what they&rsquo;re doing with their right hand. Look at what they&rsquo;re doing to pick the pocket of American workers, to fleece seniors by privatizing social security and medicare; look what they&rsquo;re doing undermining workers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>McBride continued, &ldquo;And here&rsquo;s also what we have to be clear about, because I think the last week has been a prime example of this: every bit of time and energy that is used to divert the attention of federal government to go after trans people is time and energy that is not focused on addressing the cost of living for our constituents. And we have to be clear that there is a real cost for the American worker every time they focus on this.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 640px; max-height: 360px; min-width: 320px; min-height: 180px; overflow: hidden;\">\n<div style=\"position: relative; width: 100%; padding-top: 56.25%;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/share.grabien.com\/share.php?id=2706546&amp;userid=11311&amp;loginid=9421&amp;playercolor=%23000000&amp;playersize=auto&amp;code=ccc1eca682d9ed521c82e9693a6963cd\" style=\"position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 0px;\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>McBride also addressed concerns fellow Democratic lawmakers have made on how transgender ideology is impacting support, as Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/seth-moulton\/\">Seth Moulton <\/a>(D-MA) recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/3225668\/massachusetts-democrat-receives-swift-backlash-from-party-transgender-comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">received internal backlash from his party<\/a> for stating he did not want his two daughters &ldquo;getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete.&rdquo; In response, McBride argued the country is still experiencing its conversation on &ldquo;the full diversity&rdquo; of the transgender community.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson&rsquo;s announcement of the new policy applies to bathrooms in the Capitol and House office buildings and will be enforced by the House sergeant-at-arms. The House speaker maintained that the policy would be enforced, but it&rsquo;s unknown how.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>McBride agreed to comply with Johnson&rsquo;s policy via a statement, as the newly-elected lawmaker is focused on bringing down &ldquo;costs facing families.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Following Johnson&rsquo;s decision, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3239186\/fetterman-offered-private-bathroom-mcbride\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Sen.
