Va. delegate charged for his role in Capitol breach\">facing federal charges<\/a> for allegedly distributing fentanyl that killed a man, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-md\/pr\/us-attorneys-office-files-criminal-complaint-against-burtonsville-woman-connection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a> from the U.S. Attorney&rsquo;s Office for the District of Maryland.<\/p>\n<p>Police arrested Sarah Katherine Magid on Aug. 13, charging her with narcotics distribution, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wusa9.com\/article\/news\/crime\/maryland-teacher-federal-charges-drug-distribution\/65-1a522ec3-2e42-4bc1-b835-bfae7dc0cc23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WUSA-TV<\/a>&nbsp;in Maryland reported.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&rsquo;t until Nov. 13, however, that the U.S. Attorney&rsquo;s Office, District of Maryland, filed a criminal complaint against the 34-year-old resident of Burtonsville, Maryland.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">MCPD and DEA executed a search and seizure warrant at the Burtonsville home of Sarah Katherine Magdi, a first-grade teacher, for violations of Maryland&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/police-find-headless-torso-in-deep-freezer-on-new-orleans-mans-property-suspect-booked\/\" title=\"Police Find &#039;Headless Torso&#039; in Deep Freezer on New Orleans Man&#039;s Property, Suspect Booked\">controlled dangerous substance<\/a> statutes.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ARLTI5Y7FJ\">https:\/\/t.co\/ARLTI5Y7FJ<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/R1E6LMvE1G\">pic.twitter.com\/R1E6LMvE1G<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Montgomery County Department of Police (@mcpnews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mcpnews\/status\/1825958191227875764?\">August 20, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p> <script type=\"text\/javascript\"> \t\t\tif ( getCookie( \"ff_subbed\" ) ) { \t\t\t\tdocument.getElementById(\"stnvideo\").remove() \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>If convicted, Magid faces a minimum sentence of 20 years, with a maximum life sentence in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pro-palestinian-activist-convicted-murdering-american-israeli-released-prison-despite-never-regretting-killings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">federal prison<\/a>, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p>The events began unfolding in March after a man overdosed on fentanyl in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>Forensics revealed text messages through which Magid and the man arranged meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Further analysis revealed that Magid had sold the man what looked like 30-milligram pills of oxycodone hydrochloride, but which contained fentanyl.<\/p>\n<p>Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid drug about 100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than heroin as a pain reliever, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dea.gov\/factsheets\/fentanyl#:~:text=What%20is%20Fentanyl%3F,than%20heroin%20as%20an%20analgesic.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drug Enforcement Agency<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The man was found dead after the transaction, and D.C.&rsquo;s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner concluded the cause was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/us-militarys-fentanyl-crisis-may-putting-national-security-risk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fentanyl toxicity<\/a>, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p>Magid reportedly sold <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/juror-reveals-damning-text-thread-led-hunter-bidens-conviction-training-get-drugs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drugs<\/a> to other users.<\/p>\n<p>A subsequent complaint reported to police in July said that Magid would also sell drugs off-campus during working hours.
