The \u200drecall was prompted after 17 confirmed cases of illness linked to the beef were\u200d reported in \u2064Minnesota. Many of the affected consumers \u2064dined at restaurants such as Red Cow and Hen\u200d House Eatery. <\/p>\n<p>The USDA has\u200d listed the specific products affected by the recall, urging\u2064 restaurants to discard or return any of the recalled products.\u200d Symptoms \u2062of E. coli infection include dehydration, bloody diarrhea, and abdominal cramps, which can last from two to eight \u2064days. A report from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/minnesota\/news\/four-more-patients-fall-sick-due-to-e-coli-outbreak-linked-to-wolverine-packing-co-ground-beef\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS<\/a> said 17 confirmed E. coli cases have been linked to the meat. All are from Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>CBS reported that the initial 11 people sickened ate at the Red Cow and Hen House Eatery in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n<p>E. coli <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/20000-pounds-meat-patties-recalled-purple-plastic-found-inside\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">symptoms<\/a> illness include dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps that can last two to eight days.<\/p>\n<p>The USDA said the fresh products have a &ldquo;use by&rdquo; date of 11\/14\/2024 . Frozen products were made on &nbsp;10\/22\/24.<\/p>\n<p>The FSIS became involved after the Minnesota Department of Agriculture became aware of several people who became ill after eating ground beef.<\/p>\n<p>Ground beef from Wolverine Packing Co. was sampled and on Wednesday was found to be positive for E. coli the USDA said.<\/p>\n<p>The FSIS announcement urged restaurants to check refrigerators or freezers for the products, which should be thrown away or returned to where they were purchased.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/maryroeloffs\/2024\/11\/21\/4-more-e-coli-cases-reported-amid-nationwide-recall-of-wolverine-packing-co-ground-beef\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forbes<\/a>, the strain of E. coli found in Wolverine&rsquo;s products is the same found in October in onions used in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mcdonalds-linked-outbreak-multiple-states-bacteria-kills-one-infects-others\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">McDonald&rsquo;s<\/a> Quarter Pounders.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the company said it is working closely with the federal food safety agencies, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/news\/local\/michigan\/2024\/11\/21\/detroits-wolverine-packing-co-recalls-more-than-160000-pounds-of-ground-beef\/76488564007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Detroit News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Wolverine has notified all customers that received product encompassed by the recall.
