The new \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/black-owner-of-14-franchises-sues-mcdonalds-over-bias\/\" title=\"Black Owner Of 14 Franchises Sues McDonald\u2019s Over Bias\">marketing campaign<\/a>, titled &#8220;Copy Nothing,&#8221; features a diverse cast of characters\u2064 that starkly contrasts with the \u200dtraditional icons\u200d of luxury, power, and\u200b masculinity associated with the brand, such as James\u200d Bond. Critics argue that this shift may alienate traditional Jaguar customers while trying to appeal to \u2062a\u200b design-oriented, affluent audience seeking\u200b alternatives to Tesla.<\/p>\n<p>Jaguar&#8217;s U.K. brand director\u200b emphasizes a commitment to diversity and inclusivity, which some view as\u2063 a misguided approach that \u2063mirrors other brands&#8217; recent struggles with\u2064 tone-deaf\u200b marketing. The \u2062automaker\u2062 has \u200cseen a drastic decline in sales\u2014down 70% in the U.S.\u2014due largely to mismanagement. Unlike competitors\u200d like Porsche, \u2064which are creating appealing\u2064 collaborations and maintaining\u2062 positive \u200bsales trends, Jaguar seems \u2062to be \u2063choosing\u2062 a controversial route that neglects its heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Jaguar&#8217;s\u2062 move to \u200bredefine its brand identity has prompted skepticism about whether the company can\u200c successfully navigate the transition while resonating with its longstanding customer base or \u2064if it will merely repeat\u2064 the mistakes \u200dof other brands that\u2063 have suffered from\u200b misguided marketing strategies.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Luxury. Power. Beauty. The British Royals. James Bond. James Bond villains. Masculinity. These are the things that come to mind when one thinks of Jaguar, both the automaker and the magnificent, crepuscular cat for which it was named. Now, though, the car company is rebranding, ditching its former glory as the producer of the first mass-produced V-12 vehicle and instead embracing an all-electric future, though one would never be able to discern that from its new marketing campaign: &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rLtFIrqhfng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Copy Nothing<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The spot, featuring a diverse and inclusive group of eight gender-bending Austin Powers villains, is quite a spectacle, with the text telling viewers to &ldquo;create exuberant, live vivid, delete ordinary, break moulds [sic, since the Brits don&rsquo;t know how to spell the language they created], copy nothing.&rdquo; The cast is not exactly James Bond and Honey Ryder. It&rsquo;s not even Le Chiffre. It doesn&rsquo;t exude power, beauty, or luxury. It&rsquo;s definitely not strong and masculine. It does, however, suggest that Jaguar <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Delicious_Tacos\/status\/1859307313779310714?s=19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">will be there<\/a> for those who want a Tesla but can&rsquo;t bring themselves to buy one because of Elon Musk&rsquo;s political transformation.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, if you&rsquo;re a &ldquo;design minded,&rdquo; &ldquo;cash rich, time poor&rdquo; shopper who&rsquo;s in the market for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caranddriver.com\/news\/a62939000\/jaguar-new-logos-brand-relaunch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an extremely expensive luxury EV<\/a> that competes with Rolls-Royce and Bentley, the new Jaguar has you covered. That Jaguar&rsquo;s U.K. <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AndrewBeckUSA\/status\/1859286608790409226\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brand director<\/a> is &ldquo;committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and unified culture that is representative not only of the people who use our products but in a society in which we all live&rdquo; is certainly incidental and in no way connected to this bizarre rebrand.<\/p>\n<p>Not that the company didn&rsquo;t need to do something. Its cars haven&rsquo;t been flying off the lots for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/763140\/jaguar-sales-volume-cars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">several years now<\/a>, with U.S. sales down 70 percent due to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lulumeservey\/status\/1858906844506226971\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">severe mismanagement<\/a> of the brand. Maybe, just maybe, though, Jaguar should have learned from some other brands facing issues due to tone-deaf marketing campaigns aimed at turning off men, Bud Light and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thespectator.com\/politics\/democrats-bud-lighted-their-brand-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democrat Party<\/a> being good examples. <\/p>\n<p>The former is seeking to recover, using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TO6hngy9Ajw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shane Gillis<\/a> in a new spot designed to appeal to normal men. The latter, not so much, even if some are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2024\/11\/13\/democrats-2024-defeat-identity-politics-message-column-00189118\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">calling for<\/a> the party &ldquo;to deemphasize Democrats&rsquo; affinity group culture and uplift a focus on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-vowed-to-elect-more-women-they-did-just-that\/\" title=\"Republicans Vowed To Elect More Women...They Did Just That\">economic opportunity<\/a>. Which leads to another, crucial point: Stop saying things like &lsquo;uplift.&rsquo;&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>We already know that Jaguar&rsquo;s brand director is committed to affinity groups. The rebrand is also obviously aiming toward those who&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">ve experienced lucrative economic opportunities<\/a> despite the state of the global economy. When it comes to uplifting, as opposed to promoting things, we&rsquo;ll have to assume; but given the brand director&rsquo;s apparent affinity for opaque dress shirts, it&rsquo;s a safe assumption. Only someone totally ensconced in a bubble &mdash; one devoid of interactions with normal people and only versed in conversations with others from that milieu &mdash;&nbsp;would choose this moment to roll out that advertisement.<\/p>\n<p>As the Democrats, Bud Light, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-13934111\/DEI-Robby-Starbuck-war-woke-end.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">host of other businesses<\/a> have learned, people are tired of the crazy. Performative weirdness is over. That the members of the establishment continue to try and give it to us good and hard only highlights that they exist in a highly insular space, one in which creatives at the firm that created &ldquo;Copy Nothing&rdquo; keep their heads firmly planted. <\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s almost amazing to behold, especially as Porsche, no stranger to the EV market, just announced <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Porsche\/status\/1859293440422363642\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a new collaboration<\/a> with hip-hop fashion brand Aim&eacute; Leon Dore. While the car is one of a kind, the partnership includes a limited-edition <a href=\"https:\/\/sneakerbardetroit.com\/aime-leon-dore-new-balance-993-porsche\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New Balance sneaker<\/a>. New Balance kicks are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/memes\/comments\/8fkaxj\/not_a_true_dad_if_you_dont_have_nbs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dad shoes<\/a>. They are normal. Incidentally, here&rsquo;s what Porsche&rsquo;s sales trend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodcarbadcar.net\/porsche-us-sales-figures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">looks like<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But sure, Jaguar, copy nothing, except for failure. Get rid of the magnificent beast that once adorned your hoods and replace it with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1145065_jaguar-reveals-new-logo-branding-ultra-luxury-evs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a monogram<\/a>. Change your logo to whatever <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2024\/11\/localimages\/jaguar-device-mark-16x9-191124-673b6c3e22f39.jpg?crop=0.9204545454545455xw:1xh;center,top&amp;resize=980:*\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this is<\/a>. Give up on internal combustion engines and attempt to rebuild yourself by capturing as much of the EV sales pie as you can, small <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/1371599\/global-ev-market-share\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">as it is<\/a>. Boldly foster a diverse, inclusive, and unified culture that represents the society in which you live, which, as one can presume from that ad, is largely inhabited by dime store versions of Andy Warhol, David Bowie, Iman, and the like.<\/p>\n<p>Be like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carousel.blog\/p\/winning-isnt-for-everyone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nike<\/a>. Be like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UZ6JxAgmxXg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spinal Tap<\/a>. Turn that more selective appeal up to 11. Tell people who want Teslas, but who can&rsquo;t be seen in one, to live vividly and also to hand you a stack of cash. Copy nothing, especially not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/funny\/comments\/2d2b6b\/friend_bought_a_jaguar_all_i_could_think_of_was\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this fake ad<\/a> from the movie &ldquo;Crazy People.&rdquo; Do anything but try to appeal to men. If there&rsquo;s one thing we&rsquo;ve learned over the past year, it&rsquo;s that you can <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/13\/lets-hear-it-for-the-straight-white-boys-who-saved-us-from-kamala\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">safely ignore them<\/a> without facing any repercussions whatsoever.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Richard Cromwell is a writer and senior contributor at The Federalist.
