In a proposed final \u2062judgment, the DOJ stated that\u2062 Google must sell Chrome to\u200b a buyer approved by the plaintiffs, under terms subject to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-approval-drops-to-lowest-point-in-four-years\/\" title=\"Supreme Court Approval Drops To Lowest Point In Four Years\">court approval<\/a>. Additionally, the judgment seeks to prohibit Google from making payments to device manufacturers to set\u2063 Google as the default search engine. It \u2062also mandates that Google share its search index with competitors and ease\u200c the process for publishers to opt-out of having\u2063 their content used for AI purposes. This development follows a recent ruling\u200d by Judge Amit P. Mehta of the U.S. District Court of D.C. ruled in August that Google was operating as an illegal monopoly. By next summer, Mehta will lay out changes Google will need to make in order to restore competition.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Google&rsquo;s president of global affairs and chief legal officer called the Department of Justice&rsquo;s proposal &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/covid-fearmongering-worked-so-well-the-government-is-now-creating-a-poultry-panic\/\" title=\"Government capitalizes on COVID fear by manufacturing a poultry panic\">unprecedented government overreach<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;DOJ&rsquo;s wildly overbroad proposal goes miles beyond the Court&rsquo;s decision.
