he said. &ldquo;When this happens, you never know what&rsquo;s going to happen.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>After his comment, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/civil-war-breaks-msnbc-high-profile-contributor-incites-boycott-morning-joe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brzezinski<\/a> interjected, &ldquo;Or tomorrow.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/business\/media\/comcast-greenlights-7-billion-spinoff-of-nbcuniversal-cable-channels-cc5c6dc5?st=Jisso7&amp;reflink=desktopweb_permalink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wall Street Journal<\/a>, the deal is worth about $7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The Journal said Mark Lazarus, chair of NBCUniversal&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-interpreter-gets-canceled-by-msm-for-supporting-president-trump\/\" title=\"White House interpreter gets \u2018canceled\u2019 by MSM for supporting President Trump\">media group<\/a>, will be the CEO of the spinoff.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The transaction will be structured as a tax-free spin to existing holders,&rdquo; Comcast President Mike Cavanagh said in a memo, according to NBC. &ldquo;While we don&rsquo;t have a precise timetable for completing the transition, we are estimating that it will take approximately a year.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The well-capitalized, independent company will be positioned to lead in the changing landscape for cable networks given the strength of its portfolio and the quality and focus of its management team,&rdquo; Cavanagh said.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report in <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/tv\/news\/msnbc-faces-big-changes-comcast-cable-spin-off-rachel-maddow-mark-lazarus-1236215502\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Variety<\/a>, which relied on sources it did not name, there is uncertainty over whether MSNBC, once divorced from Comcast, will need to be renamed.<\/p>\n<p>The report also said that it was unclear how the spin-off network would get its news.
