Senate rules <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/11\/14\/politics\/cabinet-confirmation-recess-what-matters\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">changed<\/a> in 2013 preventing a filibuster from being employed to block a confirmation vote on administration officials.<\/p>\n<p>Senate Majority Leader-elect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/everything-need-know-major-gop-senate-battle-brewing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Thune<\/a> said last week that recess appointments are &ldquo;on the table.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think that all options are on the table, including recess appointments.
