This decision follows a\u200d comprehensive\u2062 review and is expected\u200c to be executed within the next year,\u2063 structured as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">tax-free<\/a> transaction for Comcast&#8217;s shareholders. While these and several other NBCUniversal networks generated roughly $7 billion for the network in the year ending Sept. 30, Comcast has opted to do without these networks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/business\/media\/comcast-cmcsa-q3-earnings-report-2024-c802f001?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">following consideration of the idea<\/a> last month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/business\/media\/comcast-greenlights-7-billion-spinoff-of-nbcuniversal-cable-channels-cc5c6dc5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">according to a report<\/a> from the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This spinoff is expected to take place within a year and will be structured as tax-free for Comcast&rsquo;s shareholders.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A Comcast truck is shown on Jan. 24, 2019, in Pittsburgh. Puskar, File)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, the parent company is not doing away with all of these networks as NBC broadcast network, Bravo, and the streaming service Peacock are expected to be kept by Comcast.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of these changes, Comcast is making multiple changes to its leadership, all of which will be effective immediately. Among these are Donna Langley, NBCUniversal&rsquo;s chief content officer, who is being promoted to chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment and Studios.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Comcast&rsquo;s plans for NBCUniversal&rsquo;s cable channels come amid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/cable-tv-dead-hollywood-future\/\">a decrease in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cord-cutting-continues-dish-lost-273k-subscribers-in-4th-quarter\/\" title=\"Cord Cutting Continues: Dish Lost 273K Subscribers in 4th Quarter\">cable subscriptions<\/a> in the United States<\/a>, which went from a peak of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-podcasts-have-taken-a-larger-role-in-the-2024-election-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"How podcasts have taken a larger role in the 2024 election - Washington Examiner\">105 million households subscribed<\/a> to cable television in 2010 to just the 70 million expected by the end of this year.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcuniversal.com\/article\/msnbc-tops-cnn-presidential-election-night-first-time-network-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">MSNBC drew in over 6 million viewers<\/a>, the most for MSNBC on an election night.
