They mocked the selections and jokingly insinuated Trump&rsquo;s choices were based on vanity and aesthetics rather than legitimate qualifications.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s a TV Cabinet. Maybe he&rsquo;s doing it because he wants to make sure they look good on screen,&rdquo; co-host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/whoopi-goldberg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Whoopi Goldberg<\/a> suggested.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, after that statement, Goldberg abruptly cut to co-host Sunny Hostin and stated she had a legal note to read. It involved the Department of Justice&rsquo;s investigation into and a legal clarification of former Rep. Thank you, Whoopi,&rdquo; Hostin said with an unpleasant look on her face before reading the statement.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Matt Gaetz has long denied all allegations, calling the claims, quote, &lsquo;invented,&rsquo; and saying in a statement to ABC News that &lsquo;this false smear following a three<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-sets-hunter-bidens-date-in-court-over-tax-and-gun-charges\/\" title=\"Judge Sets Hunter Biden\u2019s Date in Court Over Tax and Gun Charges\">-year criminal investigation<\/a> should be viewed with great skepticism,&rsquo;&rdquo; Hostin said. &ldquo;The DOJ investigation was closed with no charges being brought.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The show then went to a commercial break.<\/p>\n<p>Hostin&rsquo;s legal note comes as <em>The View<\/em> hosts have regularly made critical remarks about Trump&rsquo;s Cabinet choices, especially Gaetz, whom the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">president-elect nominated<\/a> for attorney general. Meanwhile, Gaetz is embroiled in controversy surrounding serious allegations he had an inappropriate relationship with an underage woman.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This relationship has been referenced by <em>The View<\/em> hosts since Gaetz was announced as the nominee.
