It involved the Department of Justice&rsquo;s investigation, and a legal clarification of sorts, of former Rep. Thank you, Whoopi,&rdquo; Hostin said with an unpleasant look on her face before reading the statement.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Matt Gaetz has long denied all allegations, calling the claims, quote, &lsquo;invented,&rsquo; and saying in a statement to ABC News that &lsquo;this false smear following a three<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-sets-hunter-bidens-date-in-court-over-tax-and-gun-charges\/\" title=\"Judge Sets Hunter Biden\u2019s Date in Court Over Tax and Gun Charges\">-year criminal investigation<\/a> should be viewed with great skepticism,&rsquo;&rdquo; Hostin said. &ldquo;The DOJ investigation was closed with no charges being brought.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The show then went to a commercial break.<\/p>\n<p>Hostin&rsquo;s legal note comes as &ldquo;The View&rdquo; hosts have <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">regularly made critical remarks<\/a> about Trump&rsquo;s Cabinet choices, especially former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), whom the president-elect nominated for attorney general. Meanwhile, Gaetz is embroiled in controversy surrounding serious allegations that he had inappropriate relationships with an underage woman.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This relationship has been regularly referenced by &ldquo;The View&rdquo; hosts since Gaetz was announced as the nominee.
