The hacker, \u200bidentified by the\u2063 pseudonym &#8220;Altam Beezley,&#8221; managed \u200dto\u200b obtain 24 exhibits detailing the\u200b accusations, including a\u2064 statement from \u200ca woman who alleged \u2062that she had sexual relations with Gaetz when she was 17. These documents were extracted from a secured \u2062file maintained by the lawyers representing the accuser \u200band another\u2062 woman who corroborated the testimony. Although some of this information is\u200d sealed by the Justice Department, none \u200cof the stolen files have been made public thus far. The exhibits were taken from a secure computer file held by the lawyers of the woman who testified, as well as another woman who gave corroborating testimony. Some of the information obtained is under seal by the Justice Department.<\/p>\n<p>As of writing, none of the files were leaked to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer who discovered the breach said in an email <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2024\/11\/19\/gaetz-investigation-hack-evidence-senators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"obtained by\">obtained by<\/a> the <em>Washington Post<\/em> that the email address associated with Beezley couldn&rsquo;t be reached.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I have not been able to identify the person who downloaded the files, but I have contacted the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fda-issues-new-recalls-on-supplements-covid-tests\/\" title=\"FDA Issues New Recalls on Supplements, COVID Tests\">email address provided<\/a>, asking the person to identify him or herself, instructing that their access is not authorized, and telling them that they should destroy the materials they downloaded,&rdquo; they wrote. &ldquo;My email was returned because the email address was not found.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The documents were part of a civil suit filed by Gaetz ally Christopher Dorworth, who said that the woman who said she had sex with Gaetz as a minor and convicted sex trafficker Joel Greenberg defamed him with their claims. Attorneys for Greenberg prepared the exhibits hacked on Monday in response.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Justice had launched an investigation into Gaetz but declined to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/another-wave-of-portland-police-quit-amid-massive-spike-in-shootings-and-stabbings-fire-dept-responding-to-10-homeless-tent-fires-a-day\/\" title=\"Another Wave Of Portland Police Quit Amid Massive Spike In Shootings And Stabbings; Fire Dept. Responding To 10+ Homeless Tent Fires A Day\">file charges<\/a> against him after finding insufficient evidence.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gaetz is now looking to run the DOJ, having won Trump&rsquo;s nomination for the position of attorney general. The leaking of the files could damage his chances of obtaining enough Senate votes for approval.<\/p>\n<p>The House Ethics Committee launched its own investigation into Gaetz and was due to release its report until Gaetz resigned his seat.
