Two years prior, the NYT \u200chighlighted the Republican\u2062 Party&#8217;s reluctance to accept the\u200b outcomes of elections\u2063 as a significant \u2063threat \u200dto \u2063democracy. However, the article \u2063points out that the NYT is now downplaying similar\u200d behavior from Democrats, particularly\u2062 focusing \u200bon Senator Bob Casey, who \u2064has not\u200c conceded a race he lost.\u2063 <\/p>\n<p>The author criticizes the NYT for overlooking lawlessness \u2063in the Pennsylvania \u200bSenate race, where at\u200b least four counties\u200d are\u200c disregarding a\u2064 state Supreme Court \u200druling on\u200c ballot counting. Rather than acknowledge that Sen. Bob Casey, D-Penn., refuses to concede a race he clearly lost, the Times is putting a rosy spin on the situation, calling it a &ldquo;twist&rdquo; in the electoral process.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ebe249b43d88022a5ba1b9e852d723e9 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ebe249b43d88022a5ba1b9e852d723e9\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/11\/17\/us\/pennsylvania-election-ballots-recount.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According to<\/a> The Times&rsquo; Nick Corasaniti, &ldquo;In Pennsylvania, the Election Litigation Continues, With a Twist.&rdquo; Corasaniti is well aware that what is unfolding in the Pennsylvania Senate race is nothing short of lawlessness. It&rsquo;s why he acknowledged in the subhead that at least four counties are openly defying a state Supreme Court order that &ldquo;undated or misdated mail ballots cannot be counted.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Times, which has had no problem reporting on &ldquo;election denialism&rdquo; could have called out this blatant disregard for the rule of law. But instead they are downplaying it as a mere difference of opinion between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-jim-jordan-gives-ultimatum-on-the-upcoming-electoral-college-showdown-video\/\" title=\"WATCH: Jim Jordan Gives Ultimatum On The Upcoming Electoral College Showdown (VIDEO)\">county commissioners<\/a> and the state&rsquo;s highest court. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Bucks County election commission felt differently,&rdquo; Corasaniti wrote, referencing a quote from <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/14\/people-violate-laws-anytime-they-want-pa-county-dems-defy-state-law-to-count-hundreds-of-illegal-votes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bucks County<\/a> commissioner Robert Harvie Jr., who decided that <em>he<\/em> is the arbiter of what&rsquo;s legal or not while defying the court&rsquo;s order. <\/p>\n<p>The Times then referenced a quote from fellow commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia, who said she was openly violating the law because she wants the &ldquo;court to pay attention.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6aee486233dd34b3cfac7b526854944e fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6aee486233dd34b3cfac7b526854944e\"><\/div>\n<p>But the Times just nods along, quoting Ellis-Marseglia as saying &ldquo;There&rsquo;s nothing more important than counting votes&rdquo; as if defying the law is somehow a virtue.<\/p>\n<p>For four years, Democrats and their media allies smeared Republicans as traitors to &ldquo;democracy&rdquo; for questioning the 2020 election results. It didn&rsquo;t matter that the election was riddled with irregularities or that in <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/09\/board-refuses-to-have-fulton-county-investigated-for-double-scanning-3000-ballots-in-2020-recount\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fulton County<\/a>, Georgia, for example, more than 3,000 ballots were double scanned. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/more-than-70-of-dem-voters-dont-know-kamalas-positions\/\" title=\"More Than 70% Of Dem Voters Don&#039;t Know Kamala&#039;s Positions\">left-wing corporate media&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s message was clear: questioning the outcome of an an election was tantamount to the Civil War.<\/p>\n<p>But now that Democrats are the ones not only denying the results of an election but actively working to rig the outcome. The hypocrisy is impossible to ignore. Instead of calling out blatant lawlessness, the Times offered a sympathetic &ldquo;twist&rdquo; and spins this affront to election integrity as nothing more than a friendly disagreement between local officials who want to enfranchise all voters and the courts.<\/p>\n<p>The double standard only affirms what&rsquo;s been known all along: The left&rsquo;s obsession with labeling Republicans as election deniers was never about defending the integrity (or lack thereof) of our elections.
