Do you agree?&rdquo; Welker asked Jeffries, quoting from the report.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think Speaker Emerita Pelosi has been incredibly respectful of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/disney-ceo-bob-chapek-claims-company-is-a-force-for-inclusion-but-doesnt-want-it-become-a-political-football\/\" title=\"Disney CEO Bob Chapek Claims Company Is \u201cA Force for Inclusion\u201d but Doesn\u2019t Want It Become a \u201cPolitical Football\u201d\">entire leadership team<\/a>. It&rsquo;s an honor to stand on the shoulders of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, an <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">incredibly consequential public servant<\/a> in the history of America,&rdquo; Jeffries responded.<\/p>\n<p>He was then asked if he thought Pelosi was specifically undermining his leadership in the House with her public criticism of the party, which has included lamenting the fact that President Joe Biden did not drop out of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/emmer-works-to-forge-closer-relationship-with-trump-after-speaker-fiasco\/\" title=\"Emmer aims to strengthen ties with Trump post-speaker incident\">presidential race sooner<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jeffries flatly stated, &ldquo;No,&rdquo; leading to amusement from Welker, who said, &ldquo;OK, that was quick.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3224520\/pelosi-blame-biden-anointing-harris-stepping-aside\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"criticism\">criticism<\/a> following the election included jabs at both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, arguing that if Biden had dropped out sooner, &ldquo;there may have been other candidates in the race.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The anticipation was that, if the president were to step aside, that there would be an open primary,&rdquo; she said during a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/11\/08\/us\/politics\/pelosi-harris-biden-open-primary.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>New York Times<\/em><\/a>  interview. &ldquo;Kamala may have, I think she would have done well in that and been stronger going forward. But we don&rsquo;t know that. That didn&rsquo;t happen.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jeffries&rsquo;s comments this weekend come as the Democratic Party attempts to chart a new course after the Nov. 5 election, which saw Republicans secure the trifecta &mdash; the presidency, House, and Senate. Democrats will be looking for a new chair of the Democratic National Committee, as current Chairman Jaime Harrison is not expected to seek a second term.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on that search process this weekend, &ldquo;Squad&rdquo; Rep.
