Had this statement just started and stopped right there, this writer honestly probably wouldn&rsquo;t be that bothered by it. Monetizing on X is hard, and given the way the global economy has stagnated over the last three-and-a-half years, every company has every right to reallocate resources in the way they think is best.<\/p>\n<p>But of course, being a whiny <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/alleged-fabricator-contributed-guardians-manafort-assange-bombshell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leftist outlet<\/a>, they couldn&rsquo;t leave well enough alone.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This is something we have been considering for a while given the often disturbing content promoted or found on the platform, including far-right conspiracy theories and racism,&rdquo; the outlet wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, hold the phone. Is The Guardian unaware of the left&rsquo;s own flirtations with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/election-denier-top-senate-democrat-still-refuses-concede-race-post-election-tantrum-continues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">election denial<\/a> &mdash; a conspiracy in every way definable &mdash; on social media or the rampant anti-Semitism that festers on both social media and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/expelled-us-college-pro-hamas-protests-iranian-university-offer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">college campuses<\/a>? Apparently not, based on the hideously slanted verbiage that followed.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The U.S. presidential election campaign served only to underline what we have considered for a long time: that X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse,&rdquo; the British paper wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Again &hellip; what? Toxicity is inherent with mass social media &mdash; you&rsquo;re going to see nasty stuff on and Instagram. too. So if that&rsquo;s a null point, that really just leaves The Guardian with Musk.<\/p>\n<p>And how can anyone take any British grievance seriously when they&rsquo;re the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/uk-police-commish-threatens-come-even-us-citizens-like-elon-musk-exercising-free-speech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ones threatening<\/a> to arrest Musk for exercising free speech?<\/p>\n<p>The Guardian clearly couldn&rsquo;t compete in the square of free and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-congresswoman-asks-facebook-to-explain-suspension-of-gold-star-mother\/\" title=\"GOP Congresswoman Asks Facebook To Explain Suspension of Gold Star Mother\">open public discourse<\/a>, so it took its ball and went home.<\/p>\n<p>Honestly? Good riddance.<\/p>\n<p>Just look at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2024\/nov\/06\/how-the-guardian-will-stand-up-to-four-more-years-of-donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this dreck<\/a> masquerading as a donation pitch in 2024: &ldquo;How the Guardian will stand up to four more years of Donald Trump.&rdquo; It&rsquo;s pathetic.<\/p>\n<p>But if that wasn&rsquo;t bad enough, The Guardian can truly kick rocks for ever allowing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/society\/2003\/jan\/14\/childprotection.rodliddle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this headline<\/a> to see the light of day: &ldquo;Should it really be a crime to look at child pornography?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>(I saw a screen shot of that article on X and had to track it down because I just couldn&rsquo;t believe it was real.)<\/p>\n<p>But the most grating part of this: The Guardian doesn&rsquo;t even have the courage of its own convictions.<\/p>\n<p>The rag isn&rsquo;t even deleting its own X account, and in fact, its reporters will still use this alleged hateful cesspool filled with nothing but conspiracies and racism for news-gathering purposes. Right.<\/p>\n<p>If The Guardian is <em>that&nbsp;<\/em>worried about X being harmful, maybe Musk should just perma-ban them and banish them and their reporters forever. Their subsequent comments suggest so: \u201cThe U.S. presidential election campaign highlighted our long-held belief that X is a toxic media platform.\u201d Toxicity exists in all mass social media; it&#8217;s unavoidable.<\/p>\n<p>How can anyone take British complaints seriously when they&#8217;re threatening legal action against Musk for exercising free speech? Clearly unable to compete in open discourse, The Guardian has taken its ball and gone home\u2014good riddance! Just look at this ridiculous donation pitch: \u201cHow The Guardian will stand up against four more years of Donald Trump.\u201d It&#8217;s laughable.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, allowing such an outrageous headline as \u201cShould it really be a crime to look at child pornography?\u201d is beyond comprehension. Yet what&#8217;s most frustrating is their lack of conviction; they&#8217;re not even deleting their account on X and will still use it for news-gathering despite calling it harmful.
