To attract customers back, it is promoting value\u2063 deals such as 10-piece McNuggets for $1 and $5 meals. The outbreak was initially thought to be caused by \u200dthe beef patties and onions used in the Quarter Pounder; however, inspections revealed no contamination in the patties. Value deals such as the 10-piece McNuggets for $1, as well as the $5 meal, have been widely advertised to bring customers back.<\/p>\n<p>The October outbreak was originally thought to be <span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">caused <\/span>by the patties and onions used in the Quarter Pounder sandwich, but the patties&nbsp;passed&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/business\/3205396\/mcdonalds-e-coli-contamination-contained-removed-stores\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">inspection<\/a> for contamination.<\/p>\n<p>On Oct. 28, McDonald&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/housing-market-stalls-as-interest-rates-remain-high-inventory-falls\/\" title=\"High interest rates and low inventory cause housing market to stall.\">chief supply chain officer<\/a>, Cesar Pina, said, &ldquo;Over the weekend,&nbsp;McDonald&rsquo;s was informed that the Colorado Department of Agriculture has completed their testing, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/uscommunications.us.newsweaver.com\/4bci331x8t\/183ot26gvm910v9t5527vk\/external?email=true&amp;a=6&amp;p=22936427&amp;t=3565920__;!!JZ0iVwK7KX4!CKGbTy9a2khoishM6vNdMOdElx6YJPskT3SKJcB_4DruIjJNhLGk0uX1LRrzBymGghb_XfBN9Qr5crcKuuDYCXQlbHqz8g%24\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">results<\/a>&nbsp;of which confirm that there was no detection of&#8239; E. coli in the samples taken of Quarter Pounder beef patties from restaurants in this area. We&rsquo;ve been informed there is no further testing planned for beef patties.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Soon after, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration declared the slivered onions the source of the outbreak. McDonald&rsquo;s onion supplier Taylor Farms, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, temporarily and voluntarily recalled its onions as it sought more information about where they were farmed.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado&rsquo;s Agriculture Department said it had &ldquo;no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mcdonalds-says-e-coli-contamination-contained-and-removed-from-its-stores-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"McDonald\u2019s says E. coli contamination contained and removed from its stores - Washington Examiner\">information suggesting&#038;nbsp<\/a>;onions&nbsp;grown in Colorado are linked to this outbreak.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Several lawsuits have been filed against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/burger-king-u-k-tries-to-celebrate-women-in-tweet-ends-up-apologizing\/\" title=\"Burger King U.K. Tries To Celebrate Women In Tweet, Ends Up Apologizing\">fast food chain<\/a> after more than 100 people across 14 states fell ill from the food.
