I understand why people are angry.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>With Trump announcing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3231080\/trump-leaning-impeachment-defenders-staff-cabinet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">flurry<\/a> of nominations to top Cabinet posts over the last few days, Phillips threw his own hat in the ring to change the game in Washington, saying Thursday, &ldquo;If there is a job that could help the country and that my skillset would be useful for &mdash; anybody should consider that.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I understand why this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/better-than-expected-u-s-economy-added-638000-jobs-in-october-unemployment-dropped-to-6-9\/\" title=\"Better Than Expected: U.S. Economy Added 638,000 Jobs in October, Unemployment Dropped to 6.9%\">federal government<\/a> needs to be reformed,&rdquo; he continued. &ldquo;But then do it with people with competency and integrity to do it.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Democratic Congressman Dean Phillips says he is open to working in the Trump administration. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I actually support an office of government efficiency, for gosh sakes it&rsquo;s long overdue. Several Democrats who are disillusioned with their party have already become a driving force in Trumpworld.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Space X and Tesla CEO Elon Musk voted Democratic for years before <a href=\"https:\/\/singjupost.com\/full-transcript-tulsi-gabbards-speech-at-donald-trumps-rally-in-duluth-ga\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">admitting<\/a> his support for limited government and free markets pushed him to endorse Trump this election cycle. The president-elect appointed Musk to help spearhead the Department of Government Efficiency, which seeks to eliminate bureaucratic waste and inefficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Phillips <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/deanbphillips\/status\/1856690016275095957\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">praised<\/a> the new office, adding during his comments Thursday, &ldquo;For gosh sakes, it&rsquo;s long overdue. Our debt is out of control.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard left the Democratic Party in October, saying it had become &ldquo;antifreedom&rdquo; and the party of war, censorship, open border, and poverty. Trump nominated her this week to be his director of National Intelligence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Robert F. Kennedy Jr. even tried to run for president as a Democrat and challenge President Joe Biden during the primaries. After saying the party of his youth manipulated the primary rules to shield Biden from competition, Kennedy announced he would run as an independent candidate. Kennedy later dropped out of the race to endorse Trump, saying he trusted the GOP leader more than the Democratic Party to protect free speech, end the war in Ukraine, and end the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3144947\/how-rfk-jr-and-allies-hope-tackle-chronic-disease-epidemic-with-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">chronic disease epidemic<\/a>. Trump has since nominated his former rival to head the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/3230829\/four-things-rfk-jr-said-he-will-do-as-head-hhs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Department of Health and Human Services<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Similar to Kennedy&rsquo;s experience, Phillips launched a Democratic presidential challenge to Biden last October but also argued that <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">party elders prohibited meaningful competition<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-no-need-for-trump-to-still-receive-intelligence-briefings\/\" title=\"Biden: \u2018No Need\u2019 For Trump To Still Receive Intelligence Briefings\">incumbent president<\/a>. He ended up suspending his campaign in March and endorsed Biden. However, from decisions to scuttle discussions about holding primary debates to Florida and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2710641\/democratic-officials-keep-other-competitors-off-north-carolina-ballot-leaving-biden-the-only-choice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">other states<\/a>&lsquo; move to effectively cancel the Democratic primary, Phillips joined Kennedy in expressing anger that party chiefs were stifling voters&rsquo; ability to assess a variety of candidates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My voice, yes, was ignored, but tens of millions of Americans&rsquo; voices were ignored and suppressed and disenfranchised,&rdquo; Phillips <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/3225321\/dean-phillips-vindication-victory-lap-after-biden-harris-defeat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">said<\/a> earlier this month.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After Vice President Kamala Harris replaced Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket and lost to Trump, Phillips reiterated his concerns that the party was out of touch with voters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Rep.
