The Ethics Committee decided \u2062not to form \u2062an investigative subcommittee, stating \u200bthat further review was unnecessary. Spartz claimed she forgot the gun was in \u2062her bag, and emphasized the danger in her line of work, suggesting that carrying firearms should be\u2064 permitted in any location. She later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfyi.org\/news\/articles\/spartz-answers-town-hall-questions-about-staff-treatment-and-airport-gun-arrest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">excused<\/a> her actions by saying, &rdquo;In reality, considering our line of business and how dangerous it is, we probably should be allowed to carry them anywhere.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Spartz was previously under fire for a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/06\/04\/ethics-panel-probes-rep-spartz-over-staff-abuse-claims-00161623\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"> report<\/a> that alleged she verbally abused her congressional staff and told a staffer she&rsquo;d rather &ldquo;die than not complete a task&rdquo; and asked if they could give her the same level of commitment.<\/p>\n<p>The House Ethics Committee made &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">preliminary inquiries&#038;rdquo<\/a>; into the behavior back in June, but little has come of the news since. Spartz spoke about the report in an August town hall with Indiana voters, saying she runs her office like she would run a business.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I probably feel more accountability for your money than mine,&rdquo; she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfyi.org\/news\/articles\/spartz-answers-town-hall-questions-about-staff-treatment-and-airport-gun-arrest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">said<\/a>. &ldquo;So, I want to make sure that if I spend your money, the results are delivered. And if people are not willing to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-republican-state-senators-propose-bills-to-end-no-excuse-mail-voting-automatic-registration\/\" title=\"Georgia Republican State Senators Propose Bills to End No-excuse Mail Voting, Automatic Registration\">deliver results<\/a>, they have plenty of other opportunities to do it. And that&rsquo;s what accountability I demand for people working for my office&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Spartz won reelection to a third term in the House recently, triumphing over her Democratic opponent, Deborah Pickett, 56.6% to 38%.<\/p>\n<p>She&rsquo;s the only member of the House who is Ukrainian born and has voiced her support for the United States&rsquo;s involvement in her home country&rsquo;s war against Russia.
