One source said the decision not to attend the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">lunch hadn&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t been finalized.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> reached out to the White House for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Biden extended the customary invitation to Donald Trump shortly after the latter was pronounced Tuesday&rsquo;s winner. Jill Biden followed shortly after, as is custom. Former first lady Michelle Obama extended a similar invitation to Melania Trump in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The one exception to this tradition was in 2020 when Donald Trump didn&rsquo;t extend the invitation to the Bidens due to his refusal to concede the election.<\/p>\n<p>Goldman Sachs&rsquo;s John F.W. Rogers joined Melania Trump&rsquo;s transition team on Monday to help with the unorthodox first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jill-biden-remains-joes-biggest-supporter-and-the-only-one-who-matters-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Jill Biden remains Joe\u2019s biggest supporter \u2014 and the only one who matters - Washington Examiner\">lady&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s move to the White House.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Four successive Goldman CEO&rsquo;s have relied heavily on John&rsquo;s judgment and execution capability,&rdquo; former Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.semafor.com\/article\/11\/11\/2024\/goldman-sachs-veteran-joins-melania-trumps-transition-team\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"statement\">statement<\/a> to <em>Semafor<\/em>. &ldquo;He will be highly valuable in any role he performs for the new administration.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Melania Trump, a model from Slovenia, was less engaged as a first lady compared to other recent presidential wives and she has not appeared to be keen to return to the role.
