The \u200cACLU sought an additional \u2062four days for voters to address\u200b problems, \u2063while state law currently mandates that the deadline is \u2064set for the end \u200bof\u2063 the workday five days after an election. In the recent election cycle, this deadline \u200dfell on a Sunday at 5 p.m. Mountain time. According to state law, the deadline is at the end of the workday five days following an election, which, in this most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newly-introduced-omar-act-would-block-lawmakers-from-paying-spouses\/\" title=\"Newly Introduced \u2018OMAR Act\u2019 Would Block Lawmakers from Paying Spouses\">recent cycle<\/a>, was Sunday at 5 p.m. Mountain time.<\/p>\n<p>None of the responding counties asked the court for an extension and instead claimed they all made reasonable efforts to contact voters with problem ballots. Arizona House Speaker Ben Toma, Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen, the Republican National Committee, and the Navajo Nation submitted amicus briefs against the petition, which the court sided with.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Thus, the Court is not presented with evidence that any voters will be prevented from curing a defective ballot by today&rsquo;s 5:00 p.m. deadline,&rdquo; the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/justice-alito-moves-up-deadline-for-supreme-court-briefing-in-pennsylvania-lawsuit-to-flip-the-election\/\" title=\"Justice Alito Moves Up Deadline For Supreme Court Briefing in Pennsylvania Lawsuit to Flip the Election\">court&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s order read. &ldquo;In short, there is no evidence of disenfranchisement before the Court.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By the time the ACLU filed the petition on Saturday, there were roughly over 67,000 ballots still to be processed. By late Sunday evening, that number dwindled to just over 33,000, <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.arizona.vote\/electioninfo\/BPS\/47\/0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">according<\/a> to the Arizona Secretary of State&rsquo;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The race was called in President-elect Donald Trump&rsquo;s favor late Saturday with 87% of the vote.
