Stringham conceded defeat and congratulated Heap on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The path to victory began with <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/arizona-elections-maricopa-county-trump-republicans-610d231c0b4d2688e94621ba7a7a2a94\">a win<\/a> over the current Recorder Stephen Richer in the July Republican primary.<\/p>\n<p>Richer has endured harassment &mdash; even death threats &mdash;&nbsp; while defending the legitimacy of the vote over four years in one of the nation&rsquo;s most closely watched political battlegrounds.
