Marc Molinaro (R-NY) and Brandon Williams (R-NY) both lost their reelection bids to Democrats Josh Riley and John Mannion, respectively, as projected by the <em>Associated Press<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In New York&rsquo;s 4th Congressional District, Rep. Anthony D&rsquo;Esposito (R-NY) is narrowly trailing Democrat Laura Gillen, 50.9%-49.1%, with 98% of the vote counted. The <em>Associated Press<\/em> has not projected a winner in the race.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ex-house-speaker-kevin-mccarthy-says-hell-leave-congress\/\" title=\"Kevin McCarthy, former House Speaker, announces departure from Congress\">comfortably won reelection<\/a> to his seat representing New York&rsquo;s 1st Congressional District, defeating Democrat John Avlon, 55.7%-44.3%, with an estimated 98% of the vote counted. The <em>Associated Press<\/em> projected LaLota as the winner in the race at midnight on election night.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans were unable to flip Rep. Pat Ryan&rsquo;s (D-NY) district, with the GOP candidate, Alison Esposito, losing to the incumbent, 56.6%-43.4%, with an estimated 95% of the vote counted. The <em>Associated Press<\/em> projected Ryan as the winner in the race at 10:34 p.m. on election night. Ryan was one of the few Democrats who won swing House districts in New York in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>While Republicans were not as victorious in House races in New York as two years ago, they still may hold their majority in the chamber. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">As of early Wednesday afternoon, the&nbsp;<em>Associated Press<\/em>&nbsp;had not yet projected<\/span> whether the GOP or Democrats would have control of the lower chamber of Congress and has Republicans winning 201 seats compared to Democrats winning 181 seats.
