Mace garnered \u200b58.3% of the vote \u2062compared to\u2063 Moore&#8217;s 41.7%. The&nbsp;<em>Associated Press<\/em>&nbsp;called the race at 9:20 p.m., with 83% of the vote counted so far.<\/p>\n<p>While Mace faced heavy competition in <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">previous reelection campaigns<\/a>, her district was redrawn in 2022 to become more Republican. That boosted her from less than 51% support in 2020 to over 56% in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Her larger battle in 2022 was from a former President Donald Trump-endorsed opponent, Katie Arrington, in the Republican primary, which she won 53% to Arrington&rsquo;s 45%. Trump endorsed Mace in 2020 but flipped to Arrington in 2022, calling Mace &ldquo;disloyal&rdquo; after she criticized him following the Jan. 6 Capitol storming.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, she&rsquo;s been friendlier to Trump and regained his endorsement while handily winning her 2024 Republican primary by over 20 points. Mace endorsed Trump in turn.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve had three-and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ex-trump-aide-paul-manafort-cant-be-prosecuted-in-new-york-following-pardon-court-rules\/\" title=\"Ex-Trump Aide Paul Manafort Can\u2019t Be Prosecuted in New York Following Pardon, Court Rules\">-a-half years<\/a> of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/people\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Joe Biden&nbsp;<\/a>now, and it&rsquo;s pretty easy,&rdquo; she said in June about the endorsement.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve had two back-to-back presidencies, and we were all safer, we were more prosperous, wages were better, inflation was lower under Donald Trump,&rdquo; she said.<\/p>\n<p>The Republican acknowledged Moore much more as Election Day grew closer, often accusing him of hate and lying about his endorsements. In an <a href=\"https:\/\/nancymace.org\/love-letter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">op-ed <\/a>for the <em>Post and Courier<\/em>, Mace said, &ldquo;To Michael B. An enormous feat in today&rsquo;s divided political world.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Mace was the first woman to graduate from the Citadel, a military college in South Carolina, in 1999.
