With more than 990,000 Democratic registered \u200cvoters \u2062requesting\u200d mail-in ballots compared\u200c to about 587,000 Republican voters, the \u2063expectations for \u200dDemocratic turnout were not met. Zito pointed\u200b out that while historically Democrats have relied on mail-in voting, a\u2062 shift appears \u200cto be occurring, particularly in rural areas where more\u2063 Republicans are participating in mail-in voting. While over 990,000 Democratic registered voters requested mail-in ballots, another 587,000 Republican registered voters did the same. This was an increase of 100,000 from 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Democrats do not have the robust mail-in ballot turnout that they expected. Republicans, in particular, in rural areas are turning out robustly in the mail-in ballots,&rdquo; Zito said Tuesday on <em><a href=\"http:\/\/foxnews.com\/shows\/fox-and-friends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Fox and Friends<\/a><\/em>. &ldquo;And a lot of those mail-in ballots in rural areas are Democrat, but these are heirloom or legacy Democrats who have been Democrats all their lives; however, that has changed because the coalitions have changed. They have had that problem since 2004,&rdquo; she added.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pennsylvania has largely voted for the Democratic presidential candidate in past years, including 2020, but flipped for former President Donald Trump during his 2016 bid. The state has 19 electoral votes, which can give a candidate their Electoral College lead. Both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris spent some of their final hours on the eve of Election Day in&nbsp;Pennsylvania&nbsp;to rally voters.<\/p>\n<p>The state reported&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/3215429\/thousands-pennsylvania-ballots-challenged-bad-faith-effort\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">14 counties<\/a>&nbsp;have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/thousands-of-pennsylvania-ballots-challenged-in-what-state-calls-bad-faith-effort-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Thousands of Pennsylvania ballots challenged in what state calls \u2018bad-faith\u2019 effort - Washington Examiner\">received challenges seeking<\/a> to invalidate&nbsp;mail-in ballots, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">citing evidence showing voters moved overseas<\/a> or had submitted a change of address request with the U.S. Postal Service.
