Is there a pathway to that?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Uh, yes,&rdquo; Musk responded.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;What would they do?&rdquo; Rogan asked.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Well, they can sic the DOJ on [X]. They have had this whole thing on hate speech, misinformation, or whatever, but they are the ones pushing misinformation. I think historically when people look back on it, it&rsquo;s going to be a pivotal moment in this very bizarre fight for the freedom of information.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;At the time, I think I said, &lsquo;Look, this is existential to the United States. It&rsquo;s existential to democracy,&#8217;&rdquo; Musk replied.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If you don&rsquo;t have freedom of speech, you don&rsquo;t have democracy. If you don&rsquo;t have freedom of speech, people cannot make an informed vote. If they are just being fed propaganda and there is no freedom of speech, democracy is an illusion,&rdquo; Musk said about why he bought X.<\/p>\n<p>The SpaceX CEO gave the example of how the DOJ has targeted his spacecraft and satellite company for &ldquo;not hiring asylum-seekers.&rdquo; He explained that it was illegal to hire asylum-seekers because of the nature of his company&rsquo;s sensitive weapons technology. It is only legal for his company to hire permanent residents of the United States, but the DOJ decided to launch &ldquo;a giant lawsuit&rdquo; against SpaceX anyway.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This Orwell situation is getting insane,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;You&rsquo;re damned if you do and you&rsquo;re damned if you don&rsquo;t.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Musk told Rogan that the growth of the &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">vast suffocating federal bureaucracy&#038;rdquo<\/a>; is expanding every year with roughly two new federal agencies a year. He added that the bureaucracy will eventually lead to it being impossible to &ldquo;get anything done&rdquo; in our country.<\/p>\n<p>Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3216684\/philadelphia-judge-allows-musk-to-continue-awarding-giveaways\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"won a legal battle\">won a legal battle<\/a> on Monday when a Philadelphia judge ruled to allow Musk to continue to do a daily million-dollar giveaway to swing state voters who signed his free speech petition.<\/p>\n<p>His mother, Maye Musk, said on Fox News that her son has been targeted by Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They go after Elon for every hiccup, he gets a court order,&rdquo; Maye Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3216546\/maye-musk-democrats-really-after-elon-musk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said\">said<\/a> on Fox on Monday. &ldquo;This is pretty much Democratic judges or court orders. The Democrats are really after him, and most of the judges are Democrats.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Entrepreneur David Sacks <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1847853449183920626\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"warned in a recent podcast\">warned in a recent podcast<\/a> that a Harris administration would lead to &ldquo;lawfare all over the place.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m definitely not at the top of the list. Elon&rsquo;s at the top of the list,&rdquo; Sacks said. &ldquo;He has no choice but to go all in.
