In 1971, Congress amended the act to include a statute that would allow the FCC to revoke a broadcaster&rsquo;s license &ldquo;for willful or repeated failure.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>An official in the Trump campaign confirmed to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> that SNL never extended an invite for Trump to appear this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>In the <em>SNL<\/em> sketch, which ran for just over two minutes, actress and comedian Maya Rudolph &mdash; who has portrayed Harris on the show &mdash; looks into a fictional mirror and has the real-life Harris staring back at her. Harris was met with lengthy applause from the TV audience.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m just here to remind you, you got this, because you can do something your opponent can&rsquo;t do &mdash; you can open doors,&rdquo; Harris joked to Rudolph in an apparent callback to Trump getting into a garbage truck last week during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-circuit-breaker-on-election-night\/\" title=\"The question looms: just how does it come to be that three quarters of Republican and nearly one third of Democrat voters all believe that the election was stolen from Trump?\">campaign event<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris, right, appears on NBC&rsquo;s &ldquo;Saturday Night Live,&rdquo; with Maya Rudolph, left, Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024 in New York. (AP Photo\/Jacquelyn Martin)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The move comes just weeks after <em>SNL<\/em> creator Lorne Michaels revealed that he had no intentions of inviting either candidate on the show ahead of the election because of the very rule that <em>SNL<\/em> is now being accused of running afoul.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You can&rsquo;t bring the actual people who are running on because of election laws and the equal time provisions,&rdquo; he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/snl-donald-trump-kamala-harris-no-cameos-1236018279\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">told<\/a> the <em>Hollywood Reporter<\/em>. &ldquo;You can&rsquo;t have the main candidates without having all the candidates, and there are lots of minor candidates that are only on the ballot in, like, three states and that becomes really complicated.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Journalist Michael Shellenberger <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/shellenberger\/status\/1853086635858215255\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">said<\/a> that he will interview Carr live on X on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3212222\/trump-sues-cbs-edited-deceitful-harris-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">filed<\/a> a lawsuit, suing CBS&rsquo;s <em>60 Minutes<\/em> for allegedly doctoring an interview with Harris.
