the West Plaza and the tunnel.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>While in the tunnel, Johnston allegedly participated in a &ldquo;shield wall&rdquo; and a &ldquo;heave-ho&rdquo; push against police, during which Metropolitan Police Department Officer Daniel Hodges was pinned against a door frame.<\/p>\n<p>He also <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">helped fellow protesters wash pepper spray<\/a> from their eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Johnston&rsquo;s woes surrounding his role on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/documentary-filmmaker-nick-searcy-everything-happened-jan-6-benefited-deep-state-dems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jan. 6<\/a> began before he was arrested in 2023, however.<\/p>\n<p>Stanley Woodward, Johnston&rsquo;s lawyer, described in a <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.dcd.257659\/gov.uscourts.dcd.257659.192.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sentencing memorandum<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-secret-service-clearly-became-a-tool-of-the-deep-state\/\" title=\"The Secret Service clearly became a tool of the Deep State\">actor&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s difficulty finding work since his involvement on Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Chagrined by the scorn he has faced in Hollywood and despite his established successful career as an actor, Mr. Johnston has essentially been blacklisted by Hollywood, and has since not been able to find work in acting,&rdquo; Woodward said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Instead, Mr. Johnston has worked as a handyman for the last two years &mdash; an obvious far cry from his actual expertise and livelihood in film and television.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Woodward also asserted that Johnston was being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/quaid-will-vote-trump-citing-weaponization-justice-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">targeted by the federal government<\/a> for political reasons.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Since his indictment in July 2023, the government has persistently overstated Mr. Johnston&rsquo;s participation at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ex-capitol-police-lt-reveals-charge-jan-6-set-us-f\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Capitol<\/a> that day: because he is an acclaimed Hollywood actor, and the government is using his status to make a point to the public,&rdquo; Woodward said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;At the same time, the government has steadfastly refused to admit that the evidence in support of Mr. Johnston&rsquo;s indictment does not support the oversized and disproportionate role it accuses Mr. Johnston of playing,&rdquo;
