DePape confronted Paul Pelosi in his bed, demanding to know Nancy&#8217;s whereabouts, \u200cand proceeded to assault him with a hammer, resulting in serious injuries, including a skull fracture. DePape held Pelosi hostage and brutally beat him until officers entered the residence, causing severe injuries, including a skull fracture.<\/p>\n<p>Before the judge declared DePape&rsquo;s sentence, DePape took the stand and spent 30 minutes rambling about how 9\/11 was an inside job, his belief that he was a psychic and that his ex-wife was a &ldquo;body double and condemning America&rsquo;s &lsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">evil murder magic rituals<\/a>.&#8217;&rdquo; DePape did not apologize to Pelosi or his family for brutally attacking him.<\/p>\n<p>DePape&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jussie-smollett-found-guilty-on-five-charges\/\" title=\"Jussie Smollett Found Guilty On Five Charges\">defense attorney called<\/a> for him to have a new trial since the felony charge of aggravated kidnapping was added after a San Francisco judge dismissed several other charges due to California&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ex-trump-aide-paul-manafort-cant-be-prosecuted-in-new-york-following-pardon-court-rules\/\" title=\"Ex-Trump Aide Paul Manafort Can\u2019t Be Prosecuted in New York Following Pardon, Court Rules\">double jeopardy law<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>District Attorney Brooke Jenkins opposed the motion for a new trial. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This case involved a fact pattern that is unlike any we have seen before,&rdquo; Jenkins wrote. &ldquo;The crimes committed by the defendant were horrific and novel.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>DePape was sentenced in May to 30 years in prison on federal charges of attempted kidnapping and assault.<\/p>\n<p>During the federal trial, DePape admitted he wanted to hold Nancy Pelosi hostage until she admitted the &ldquo;lies&rdquo;
