As \u2064of Sunday, approximately 2,821,000 \u200dballots have been cast, representing about 36% of the state&#8217;s 7,793,000 registered\u200b voters. Most of these ballots\u2014around 2,666,000\u2014were submitted in\u2062 person during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-house-passes-omnibus-election-reform-bill\/\" title=\"Georgia House Passes Omnibus Election Reform Bill\">early voting period<\/a>,\u2062 with about 155,000 being absentee ballots.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for voters to request absentee\u200c ballots is Tuesday, October 29, ahead of the election scheduled for November 5.\u2063 In response to the impact of\u200c Hurricane \u2063Helene on certain areas, the North Carolina\u2064 State Board of Elections has implemented emergency measures to assist the affected counties. These measures may include adjustments to early voting \u200cschedules and the establishment of polling places in different counties if necessary. The North Carolina State Board of Elections has emergency measures to aid 13 counties in western North Carolina that were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3204237\/trump-hurricane-rhetoric-grating-asheville-north-carolina-residents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">devastated by damage<\/a> from Hurricane Helene. Nationwide, more than <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/projects\/election-results-2024\/2024-early-voting-tracker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">41 million votes have already been cast<\/a>, with Democrats generally having an advantage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Still, Republicans are participating in early voting at a much higher rate than they did in 2020. In 2020, former President Donald Trump claimed early and absentee voting was fraudulent, but in 2024, he and Republicans broadly have urged their voters to use early voting methods.<\/p>\n<p>Early turnout broke records last week in the swing states of Georgia and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/3193233\/first-early-voting-north-carolina-record-helene\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">North Carolina<\/a>.
