This increased from over the weekend when it only cost $3.298 per gallon. Monday&rsquo;s price was higher than a week ago in the nation&rsquo;s capital when regular gas was $3.309 per gallon. Monday&rsquo;s price was slightly more expensive than gas prices a month ago, when a gallon of regular gas was&nbsp; $3.31.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delaware<\/h2>\n<p>Gas prices in Delaware followed the national trend and decreased on Monday. The average cost for a gallon of regular gas in the state to start the work week is $3.045, down from Sunday&rsquo;s price of $3.049. This was cheaper than a week ago, when a gallon of regular gas cost Delaware residents $3.073. However, gas prices on Monday were less expensive than a month ago in the First State, when a gallon of regular gas was $3.177.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Virginia<\/h2>\n<p>The average price for a gallon of regular gas in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Virginia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Virginia<\/a> fell on Monday to $3.058. This was a decrease from Sunday&rsquo;s price of $3.062. Both prices are less expensive than a week ago, when regular gas was $3.081 per gallon. However, the current average price is more expensive than a month ago, when regular gas was $3.014 per gallon.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maryland<\/h2>\n<p>The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Maryland also decreased on Monday. The new total is $3.133, a drop from Sunday&rsquo;s price of $3.136. Like every area but Washington, D.C., these prices in Maryland are less expensive than a week ago, when gas in the state was $3.155.
