Harris only has a 1-point edge.<\/p>\n<p>With the 2024 election as close as it is, the race will be decided at the margins &mdash; for the last 12 presidential contests, the candidate who has won independents made it to the White House.<\/p>\n<p>The poll&rsquo;s top lines include that Harris has an in-the-margin-of-error lead over Trump among all registered voters, 49-47%, and is slightly ahead among likely voters, 51-47%, with pro-Harris voters more motivated to vote, 88% to 85%.<\/p>\n<p>Harris is also performing better among <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/independents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Hispanic voters<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">suburban women<\/a>, compared to last month, while maintaining her level of support among <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/african-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">black voters<\/a>. For example, she now has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.langerresearch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1238a2TheClosingDays.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">a 30-point lead on Trump among registered Hispanic voters<\/a>, 64% to 34%, in contrast to September <a href=\"https:\/\/www.langerresearch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1236a1AftertheHarris-TrumpDebate.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">when she was 23 points ahead<\/a>. Among black voters, she has an 83-point lead, 90% to 7%. Four weeks ago, she was 64 points ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s best demographics include rural voters, non-college white men, and younger men.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Trump&rsquo;s best issues include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">immigration<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/economy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">economy<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/inflation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">inflation<\/a>, and the conflict in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/middle-east\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Middle East<\/a>. Harris&rsquo;s are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">abortion<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/healthcare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">healthcare<\/a>, protecting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/democracy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">democracy<\/a>, and helping the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/middle-class\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">middle class<\/a>. Trump leads on the economy by 8 points among registered voters, 40-48%, but he was 7 points ahead in September.
