This move follows his recent endorsement of former President Donald Trump and his efforts to withdraw\u200b from key swing\u200d states&#8217; ballots, including similar requests made in Wisconsin and New York. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> petitioned the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Supreme Court<\/a> on Friday to compel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/michigan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Michigan<\/a> to remove his name from the state&rsquo;s 2024 ballot, part of his recent push to drop out of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">key swing-state ballots<\/a> following his endorsement of former President Donald Trump. <\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>The petition, filed just 10 days before Election Day, follows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/3156986\/rfk-jr-remain-wisconsin-ballot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">similar last-minute requests<\/a> in the battleground state Wisconsin, where Kennedy also seeks to withdraw, and New York, where the Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3163093\/rfk-jr-supreme-court-new-york-ballot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">previously denied<\/a> his emergency request to remain on the ballot due to residency issues.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Robert F. Benson previously said Kennedy&rsquo;s efforts to remove himself were too late, and the state Supreme Court said he could not point to any specific &ldquo;source of law&rdquo; that justified his case.<\/p>\n<p>His application states that &ldquo;the Secretary&rsquo;s decision to belatedly add a withdrawn candidate to the ballot, over the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trumps-debate-win-means-nothing-if-the-gop-doesnt-chase-ballots\/\" title=\"Trump&#039;s Debate Win Means Nothing If The GOP Doesn&#039;t Chase Ballots\">candidate&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s objection no less, was head-scratching, unnecessary, and lawless.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>In Michigan, Kennedy&rsquo;s campaign suspended operations and requested withdrawal in August, but his team claims Benson ignored their efforts to prevent voter confusion by moving to keep his name on the ballot after the statutory deadline for such changes had passed.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy&rsquo;s case in Michigan echoes his similar efforts in Wisconsin, where the state&rsquo;s Supreme Court upheld a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-rejects-pennsylvania-gop-election-appeal\/\" title=\"Supreme Court Rejects Pennsylvania GOP Election Appeal\">lower court decision<\/a> to keep him on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>The former Democratic-turned-independent presidential candidate argues Wisconsin&rsquo;s ballot requirements unfairly compel him to remain listed as a candidate, violating his First Amendment rights by effectively forcing him to endorse his campaign against his will. &ldquo;In Wisconsin, he wants everyone who will listen to him to vote for Trump,&rdquo;
