Harris held a 2.2-point national lead in the <em>RealClearPolitics<\/em> polling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/trump-vs-harris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"average\">average<\/a> as recently as Oct. 4. That average now also has the race tied, with polls released this week by the <em>Wall Street Journal <\/em>and CNBC showing Trump ahead nationally.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/in_focus\/3177509\/what-maga-gop-will-look-like-post-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>WHAT MAGA AND THE GOP WILL LOOK LIKE IN A POST-TRUMP ERA<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, Trump is projecting supreme confidence in the campaign&rsquo;s final days.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;re leading by a lot in Nevada. We&rsquo;re leading by a lot in Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, even states that are typically never in play,&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3202923\/trump-boasts-about-his-poll-numbers-im-leading-by-a-lot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Trump boasted\">Trump boasted<\/a> to the crowd while campaigning in Las Vegas. &ldquo;Big states are all in play.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump has even said he&rsquo;s going to win the blue state of Colorado.<\/p>\n<p>The truth is a little more nuanced. Very few swing state polls have shown either candidate with a lead outside the margin of error. A recent Colorado poll done by Keating Research found Harris ahead in that state by 11 points.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not supposed to say that,&rdquo; Trump said about his own bragging. &ldquo;They&rsquo;re afraid that if you hear that, they&rsquo;re not going to vote. I said, &lsquo;Well, it&rsquo;s a double-edged sword.
