This\u2063 audit, initiated in the summer, \u200dutilized records from various \u2063agencies, including \u200dthe Georgia Department of Driver Services and\u200c the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The noncitizens were identified through affidavits signed to dismiss \u2064themselves from jury duty, and they hailed from \u200dseven counties including \u2062Fulton\u2063 and Cobb. Raffensperger confirmed that all 20\u200b registrations were \u200ccanceled and referred to \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/its-time-to-disarm-all-fbi-agents-and-return-authority-to-local-law-enforcement\/\" title=\"Disarm FBI agents, empower local law enforcement.\">local\u200c law enforcement<\/a>\u2063 for\u2064 further action. Additionally, the audit flagged 156 individuals for further \u200binvestigation regarding their citizenship status.<\/p>\n<p>Similar issues have also emerged in other states, with Oregon finding nine noncitizens \u200cwho voted and over 300 \u2063erroneously registered, and Ohio indicting six noncitizens for illegal voting.\u200d Despite these findings, some Democrats argue that noncitizen voting is rare. \u200bIn response, House Republicans have proposed the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility \u2064(SAVE) Act, requiring proof of citizenship \u2063to register. The audit also discovered that &ldquo;nine of those 20 noncitizens cast ballots in the past, while the other 11 were registered but never actually voted,&rdquo; according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/politics\/election-audit-shows-20-noncitizens-registered-to-vote-in-georgia\/NRORAL7Z3RDSNMQ3QDLVEARPSY\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Atlanta-Journal Constitution<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e1f8a8696ace3e0ddcc47f2c03fb9341 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e1f8a8696ace3e0ddcc47f2c03fb9341\"><\/div>\n<p>The secretary said the state used records from &ldquo;county courts, the Georgia Department of Driver Services, and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.&rdquo; Gabe Sterling, the chief operating officer for the secretary&rsquo;s office, said the 20 noncitizens on the rolls were discovered after they signed affidavits confirming they were not citizens when seeking dismissal from jury duty. The individuals came from seven Georgia counties: Fulton, Cobb, Bibb, Clayton, Henry, Gwinnett, and DeKalb, Sterling said.<\/p>\n<p>Raffensperger said all 20 voter registrations were canceled and were &ldquo;being referred to local prosecuting law enforcement.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The state also discovered 156 people whom Raffensperger says &ldquo;require[s] additional human investigation&rdquo; into their citizenship status. Raffensperger said his office opened a &ldquo;case file into these individuals.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Several other states have also discovered noncitizens on their voter rolls in recent weeks. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-aaad84465f89119f63f6ac51f12da60d fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-aaad84465f89119f63f6ac51f12da60d\"><\/div>\n<p>Oregon&rsquo;s secretary of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-forced-to-cut-spending-after-wealthy-taxpayers-flee-state\/\" title=\"California forced to reduce spending as wealthy taxpayers leave the state\">state recently announced<\/a> that the state similarly found nine noncitizens who had voted in past elections, along with &ldquo;more than 300 noncitizens [who] were erroneously registered to vote,&rdquo; as my colleague Logan Washburn <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/09\/24\/oregon-secretary-of-state-registered-1200-possible-noncitizens-to-vote-insists-noncitizen-voting-is-rare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explained<\/a>. Further <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/10\/08\/audit-oregon-registered-even-more-potentially-ineligible-voters-bringing-the-total-to-more-than-1500\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">investigation<\/a> revealed the state&rsquo;s &ldquo;motor voter&rdquo; system registered 1,259 potential noncitizens to vote.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov\/Media\/News-Releases\/October-2024\/Grand-Juries-Indict-6-for-Illegal-Voting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> Tuesday that his office indicted six noncitizens for allegedly voting in past elections, while <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/14\/alabama-secretary-of-state-finds-3000-potential-noncitizens-registered-to-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alabama announced<\/a> in August that it found more than 3,000 potential noncitizens who were registered to vote. Noncitizen voting in federal elections is illegal.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the recent trend, Democrats and the propaganda press continue to insist noncitizen voting is &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/georgia-noncitizens-voter-rolls-14532ef49b66f9cbf34ff483d2534280\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rare<\/a>.&rdquo; But even if the issue were &ldquo;rare,&rdquo; that wouldn&rsquo;t mean it should be swept under the rug. That&rsquo;s why House Republicans passed the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would amend the 1993 National Voter Registration Act to require individuals to provide documentary proof of citizenship in order to register to vote. Currently, prospective voters must simply check a square box on a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">federal registration form attesting<\/a> under penalty of perjury that they are citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats vowed to kill the election integrity bill, with President Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepDonaldsPress\/status\/1811062368480206849\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">saying<\/a> he would oppose the measure should it reach his desk. Republicans <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/09\/19\/government-funding-bill-election-integrity-implode-in-u-s-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tried<\/a> to shepherd the legislation through by tying it to a continuing resolution to keep the government funded for six months. A majority of House Democrats and 14 Republicans <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/09\/27\/failure-to-pass-save-act-proves-republicans-arent-serious-about-winning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">voted against<\/a> it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-50009144b24db02959664c23d66151a4 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-50009144b24db02959664c23d66151a4\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/01\/12\/elon-musk-rightly-says-arizona-doesnt-verify-federal-voter-citizenship-but-the-feds-dont-let-them\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Only one state<\/a>, Arizona, requires documentary proof of citizenship to vote in statewide elections.
